Timmy is the Dwarf Red Bulborb that appears in Pikmin: Antarctic Survival. Due to being a common encounter in the Chilly Valley, Timmy is likely to be one of the first Awakened residents to join the Diamond Settlement during the events of the game. Timmy doesn't have any particularly useful abilities, being an ordinary Dwarf Red Bulborb. However, Timmy does have a "secret stash" hidden away somewhere in the Chilly Valley, which he can lead an exploration team to after being Awakened.
Timmy is shown to be curious and outgoing, though he is a bit afraid of larger creatures, including Bulborbs. This fear of Bulborbs likely stems from his experiences in a Bulborb pack in the Empire Field, where he was ultimately discovered to be a Breadbug impostor rather than actually one of the Bulborbs' young, which led the other Bulborbs in the pack to try to eat him upon making this discovery. Timmy narrowly escaped, and fled to the Chilly Valley, where he is found by a search team in the game.
After fleeing to the Chilly Valley, Timmy encountered two other Breadbug mimics, Himadri and Mara, who recounted similar experiences with Bulborb packs. The three of them ended up forming a team, which they refer to as "The Gang". However, an attack from the Chilly Valley's tyrant would end up forcing the Gang to scatter in order to escape, and they were not able to find each other again after this. Thus, the three members of The Gang are encountered individually when exploring the Chilly Valley, and can only be reunited in the Diamond Settlement as they are encountered and Awakened.
Timmy seems to have a very poor sense of direction and becomes lost very easily, as shown by his difficulty in finding his own "secret stash" once he is recruited to the settlement, and his inability to find the other members of the Gang after they scattered.
Once the members of The Gang are all awakened and reunited, after a few days have passed, Timmy and the other two Dwarf Bulborbs unlock a special technique that they can use in search missions, which they refer to as "stack formation." This formation has the three Dwarf Bulborbs climb up onto each other's backs and form a tower of Dwarf Bulborbs, with Timmy at the top, Himadri in the middle, and Mara at the bottom. In this state, the three of them act as one cohesive unit, counting as one single creature for the purpose of exploration team size. The Gang's members are also able to use stack formation in battle, all running up to an enemy and biting at once in a combo attack.
Timmy's name doesn't seem to have any special meaning, unlike most character names in Pikmin: Antarctic Survival. Mainly, his name seems to connect him to the game's Red Bulborb, Tommy, as their names are very similar. It is also possible that his name is meant to reference the word "timid", as Timmy is frightened by large creatures, even those which have been Awakened. However, Himadri, the Snow Bulborb, also shares this quality, so it is unclear whether this connection is intentional.

The Dwarf Bulborb is a returning enemy appearing in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. It retains its original design throughout the Pikmin games. Dwarf Bulborbs can be found idly sniffing the ground, usually by a Red Bulborb. If approached, they will yip and pursue their prey. They can eat up to one Pikmin at a time, although very slowly. If attacked, they have a small chance to screech, awakening any Red Bulborbs in their presence. Red Bulborbs are the weakest of all dwarves, being able to be defeated by a single Pikmin throw on its back.

Dwarf Red Bulborbs, also known as Dwarf Bulborbs, perfectly resemble Red Bulborbs in appearance, but are much smaller. They chase after and try to eat any prey that passes by. In Pikmin 1, bothering one will make it release a loud scream, waking up the nearest Red Bulborb. Dwarf Bulborbs can be easily defeated by swarming them, or by throwing a single Pikmin directly on top of them.
Appearance in Pikmin 3 ().

Notes
Tike's notes
- “How odd, Olimar told me that these guys are part of the breadbug family and have a talent for mimicry. Umm, I disagree and I will check the DNA to show proof of it. Wait, not the same? Let me that try again... argh, fine, you win! I have to say they fooled me until now, so thanks, I suppose. I also can tell you that these creatures have a poorly built exoskeleton. In fact, an object landing on it about a fourth of its weight can cause severe damage. Umm, maybe that's why they don't do so well being crushed by a Pikmin. Wait... have I cracked the formula for Pikmin weight? This could be revolutionary!!! Wait, 250 grams!? Argh, stupid Olimar always beating me to the punch of discovery.”
Alice's notes
- “I would say they are a tad stupid in their IQ and I personally would recommend they follow their stepmother's footsteps. They are quite cute to say at best, but these creatures really need to grow up, seriously!”
Captain Pikmin's notes
- “Throw a Pikmin on their backs and you're done.”

In Pikmin 5: One More Game, the Dwarf Red Bulborb is similar to its previous incarnation, like in Pikmin 1, it can scream upon noticing Pikmin and leaders to alert surrounding enemies to their presence.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “Although initially identified as a juvenile Bulborb, groundbreaking new research indicates that this creature is in fact a member of the breadbug family. A close relative of Breadbug, it escapes predation through mimicry. The unique adaptation of the Bulborb's crimson coloration allows the species to safely commingle.

When spotted in unreachable ledges, Dwarf Red Bulborbs can be found sleeping much like normal Red Bulborbs. Dwarf Red Bulborbs can be found in several positions while sleeping, such as lying on their left and right sides and their stomachs. Three Dwarf Red Bulborbs can be fought when Captain Olimar lands in the Beginner Territory. A Dwarf Red Bulborb is found battling three Red Pikmin while the other two can be found observing to ground near the scuffle. This is the only instance in which Dwarf Red Bulborbs do not serve as ambiance.

Notes
Olimar's notes
- “This has been reclassified as a breadbug. How it got from being a thing that drags stuff to its nest to a diurnal predator is unknown. It has good mimicry, as the red bulborb mistakes it for its young. That, or it is stupid.”
Ship's notes
- “Just great. Another stinky bug-eyed creature that comes in the dozens to make my hold stinky. I don't care if it's red, there is JUST TOO MUCH!”

Notes
Olimar's notes
- “It may look like a younger version of the standard bulborb, but lo and behold, this is a separate species. Even further, it isn't even a part of the grub-dog family, rather, it is a relative of the breadbug. It looks the way it does because it seeks protection from Red Bulborbs. If a predator attacking the breadbug wakes up a nearby Red Bulborb, it will certainly regret it.”
Louie's notes
- “When minced up with carrots and combined with a savory cream, the Dwarf Red Bulborb can provide one with a delicious bisque. Just sprinkle in some black pepper and you're set!”

Piklopedia entry
- “Young Red Bulborb / Pansarus pseudooculii russus / Grub-dog family. The Young Red Bulborb should not be mistaken with the Dwarf Red Bulborb. The Young Red Bulborb is a child of the Red Bulborb, and is noted by the parents' protective behavior over it.
- Biology: Has the same behaviors as all other bulborbs. They only have bones in the legs and head, as their back is made of muscle connecting all bones. It is quite soft, with even the lightest impacts causing catastrophic damage to the back muscle. The heart is the size of the top half of the body in this stage of life but does not grow with the bulborb.
- Habitat: Lives with the parent Red Bulborb, in non-cold areas.
- Daily life: Searches the ground for small things to eat, unlike the sleeping parents. On exposure to danger, the Young Red Bulborb cries out, waking up all adult bulborbs nearby.”

Notes
Olimar’s notes
- “If you haven’t known yet, the dwarf red bulborb is not actually in the grub-dog family, but actually part of the breadbug family. That’s buying the dwarf red bulborb ability to mimic a red bulborb's crimson coloration and is one of the most common creatures found on PNF-404. They mimic the red bulborb to not get eaten by a predator but the weird thing is there are no predators of the breadbugs. So what is the mimicking even for?”
Louie’s notes
- “This creature is most famous for the blissful bisque with artichoke hearts and a bit of black pepper. People back on Hocotate love the creamy taste of this dwarf red bulborb bisque!”

Dwarf Red Bulborbs appear in Pikmin: Treacherous Treasures, once again as a species of breadbug that mimics adult Red Bulborbs. They appear almost identical to the Red Bulborb, however, they are smaller in size. They are usually found in pairs near Red Bulborbs, sniffing the ground for Pikmin or leaders. They can easily be defeated by swarming them, but tossing a Pikmin directly on top of one will instantly defeat it. Alternatively, a leader can defeat it just by punching it. Just make sure to avoid its bites. When under attack, a Dwarf Red Bulborb may let out a screech, alerting nearby adult bulborbs and dwarf bulborbs. Additionally, when a bomb rock explodes somewhere near it, it might investigate the source of the sound.

The Dwarf Red Bulborb appears in Pikmin: Wide World as a breadbug mimic of the Red Bulborb, both creatures being exclusive to Balmy Highlands and its caves. Dwarf Red Bulborbs are always found on dry land, in pairs or in small groups, often accompanied by one or more Red Bulborbs. They are usually found awake, but sometimes they may doze off and rest until they wake up naturally or are woken up prematurely. Sleeping Dwarf Red Bulborbs will awaken if they are touched, harmed, hear a sound loud enough to rouse them from their slumber, or if enough time has passed. Dwarf Red Bulborbs can be seen searching the ground for any potential prey, such as Pikmin or leaders, occasionally moving a small distance away to hunt in another spot if they don't find anything, and when prey does pass by, Dwarf Red Bulborbs will follow them a short distance before returning their normal behavior and original locations. They always act as a group, moving together and attacking in numbers: when one Dwarf Red Bulborb moves to another spot, others in its group will follow; when one awake Dwarf Red Bulborb detects prey, it will give a small yip that catches the attention of or wakes up others in its group. When irritated or overwhelmed, a Dwarf Red Bulborb will emit a shrill scream that attracts the attention of other creatures, namely larger, stronger grub-dogs such as nearby Red Bulborbs. However, throwing a Pikmin directly on top of a Dwarf Red Bulborb will kill it silently, negating this potential threat.
Dwarf Red Bulborbs are essentially miniature Red Bulborbs in terms of appearance, but not so much behavior. They have the general body shape of a typical bulborb, with a large, round backside and a tapered snout. They have light skin, a crimson rump with white spots, and a pair of large eyes supported by eyestalks. Their irises are blue and their sclerae are white, much like a Red Bulborb's.
Taking down a single Dwarf Red Bulborb is a quick and simple task that is often accomplished with no Pikmin losses, and so is taking down an entire group of them. They can be killed easily by swarming them or by throwing a single Pikmin directly on top of them, although the latter strategy will not work with Winged Pikmin due to their incredibly light weight. It is crucial to kill a Dwarf Red Bulborb before it can cry for help, as to avoid having other, stronger creatures joining the fight. Upon death, a Dwarf Red Bulborb will yield × 1. Aboveground, its body can be brought to either the Dolphin Lander to receive × 2 or the Master Onion to gain three Pikmin seeds. Underground, its remains can be taken to the Lander Pod to either receive × 2 or gain three Pikmin seeds of choice from the Master Onion, but only if the cave is exited using an escape geyser.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “This species of breadbug replicates the physical features of red bulborbs in order to infiltrate their populations and be fed, and cared for, by them. They are the most basic of dwarf bulborbs, having no outstanding behavioral traits of their own, similar to red bulborbs.”
Shacho's notes
- “Maybe taming a couple of these creatures could be a worthy investment for a new way to get around! I'm sure plenty of adults and children on Hocotate would love to ride one around.”
Marie's notes
- “Dwarf red bulborbs are one of the more tame species on PNF-404, believe it or not. They are quick to become friendly and loving to those that feed them. They are notorious for stealing table scraps, though...”
Louie's notes
- “Shredded, the meat of this beast makes for a fine bisque when combined with sour cream! Add in artichoke hearts, a dash of pepper, a pinch of salt, finely diced onions, and chopped scallions, and heat slowly until bubbling.”
Dolphin Lander's notes
- “Olimar has a plentiful amount of notes concerning this creature, so I can only assume they were common encounters on previous visits he's had to PNF-404. It's very fortunate they're so relatively docile!”

Notes
Olimar's notes
- “Why breadbugs would attempt to mimic other creatures, especially grub-dogs, when they have no known predators is crazy. Maybe the breadbugs need a different, more effective way to gain nutrients, although mimicry has caused them to lose their ability to pull objects.”

Notes
Olimar's notes
- “A prime example of the wonders of evolution, this breadbug species mimics an adult red bulborb to avoid predation. Dwarf red bulborbs are very social animals, often hunting in packs of three, and if threatened they will let out a loud scream that wakes up any nearby bulborbs.”
Ship's notes
