Talk recordings is a new feature in Pikmin 2... Again? that allows the player to review specific dialogue between characters.

Colored text in dialogue indicates the mention of specific topics: red for Pikmin, Onions, and candypop buds, blue for caves, orange for leaders, green for items, and purple for miscellaneous subjects.

Olimar	“Louie? The ship? Well, it seems both are very far from my location. But... The Pikmin! Good to see them again, but it seems they are fighting a new creature...”	When playing as Olimar for the first time.
Olimar	“Oh, I remember those! The caves. Maybe that one will eventually bring me to another place?”	When first encountering the Underground Greengarden.
Olimar	“Huh? That one is new, I'll call them Green Pikmin. It seems this species has a longer stem and a green color, and appears strong enough to pull objects. Could they pull those rock blocks out of the way then?”	When first discovering the Green Pikmin.
Olimar	“That object is clearly the Red Onion, this time... It seems to be inactive, just like Louie also sleeping. Oh, I finally found him, too.”	When the Red Onion is found.
