The Diamond Cannon Beetle is a mature lithopod in Pikmin 2... Again?. It is the adult form of the Coated Cannon Larva, resembling a beetle with wings, two green eyes, no blowhole, four legs, a fleshy back, and a body coated in crystal. The Diamond Cannon Beetle will inhale air though its mouth before spitting out a big crystal nodule that rolls in a straight line and, upon hitting a wall, shatters into three smaller crystal nodules and ricochets. The smaller crystal nodules will each split again into three even smaller crystal nodules and ricochet upon hitting a wall, before finally shattering and disappearing upon hitting yet another wall. The crystal nodules can crush Pikmin and leaders except the Rock Pikmin, which will only be temporarily pressed into the ground. Rock Pikmin can destroy the crystal nodules, and destroy the crystal on the Diamond Cannon Beetle. Once all the crystal is destroyed, the Diamond Cannon Beetle's wings will open and its back can be hit. The Diamond Cannon Beetle can inhale Pikmin, however, unlike the Frosted Cannon Beetle, it'll spit them out with the crystal nodule. As it is damaged, its crystal nodules will split into four rather than three, and at critical levels, five.
