The Trampled Tundra, also known by Yuki as Flattest Field, is the second area in Pikmin: Antarctic Survival. This area is the primary location where ultra-spicy berries can be found, and it is also known for having large quantities of small raw material chunks. There aren't nearly as many larger raw material chunks compared to the other areas in the Antarctic, presumably because the many large creatures in the region have trampled them and broken them up into smaller pieces.

Layout

The Trampled Tundra is very flat and level throughout, with little variation in elevation. The landscape consists of a ground made of tightly-packed snow with a layer of rock underneath. In some parts of the landscape, the snow has melted away, exposing the rock. Burgeoning Spiderworts with ultra-spicy berries are somewhat common spread throughout the area, as well as many individual berries or groups of berries which have been knocked down from the plants by the shaking of the ground caused by the Trampled Tundra's arachnorbs and other stomping creatures.

High above the ground, branches from the neighboring Otherworldly Woods region's trees spread overhead across the Trampled Tundra's ground level. These trees are commonly used by the area's arachnorbs as a higher ground to nest in and leap down from to surprise prey. Like the other areas of the Antarctic, the Trampled Tundra is dotted with cavern entrances, most being very small but one particularly large entrance being located in the northernmost part of the area, at the very edge of the plateau. This entrance is large enough to grant most arachnorbs access to the underground regions, though the Raging Long Legs native to the Trampled Tundra is still too large to fit through.
