Ah, the ocean: one of the least explored environments of PNF-404. Blue Pikmin are right at home exploring this trench not too far away from the aqueduct, but that doesn't mean complacency is defined. One particular creature would fancy a shell game by its own special definition, while the other prefers its Pikmin as pavement. Don't refrain, and show both of them the power of Neptune as you explore Canal Canyon! – Cave brochure

Canal Canyon is the third cave in Artisan Aqueduct in Pikmin: Interstellar Cryptid. It takes place under the water, beginning within a Venetian canal that eventually spills into the open ocean. Due to its submerged position, only Blue Pikmin can explore this cave, let alone enter it. This is not an issue for the most part, but some enemies have discovered how to use other hazards within the water, and have adapted appropriately. Ice blasts and galvanic charges can not be used in this cave. Completion of this cave to its full extent will net the "Rising Feeling" badge.

How to reach

The entrance to Canal Canyon is located near the Ranging Bloyster's arena in the north-left section of Artisan Aqueduct's canal. The cave itself can not be entered unless the Bathyspherical Skeleton has been collected, which allows the S.S. Lacewing's pod to join the squad in underwater spelunking missions.

Sublevel 1

This sublevel is in a vague figure-eight shape. On the left of a massive gondola pole is a Cheragor guarding a Velvety Dreamdrop. The right is guarded by a Blue Bulborb and a Brinepole. Defeating the Blue Bulborb grants access to the Safety Torus. When the two paths intersect again, the squad will be at a dirt gate. Beyond it awaits the peculiar Turban Foamvalve. It has shared its environment with some Puckering Blinnows, so caution should be taken to ensure Pikmin don't get sent by the oncoming bubbles into the jaws of the predatory fish. Upon defeat, the massive creature will drop two halves of a Disguised Delicacy.

Sublevel 2

There are three layers to this sublevel. It begins in a small ditch with a few patches of seagrass. A slope leads upward to the main section, where numerous predatory creatures can mooch off of the squad. A Toady Bloyster on this layer holds a Sunseed Berry. Walking up a sloped pathway to a plateau, a tin box could be pushed down to open a pathway to a wider area with a few nectar eggs. Two Blue Bulborbs live in this area. One contains a Hairy Fashionista, while the other holds a Dapper Blob.

Sublevel 3

Don't linger near conspicuous holes in the wall; they're home to Eye-Stalker Bulbeels. The bubble blowers and Paralic Voltantern can leave Pikmin in a state of vulnerability to some of the other creatures. Furthermore, a squid-like monster known as the Recursive Esophapod has taken residence inside of the Blue Bulborb. It holds the Pressure Gauge. A climbing wall can be constructed to reach some raised earth with a Suckerpunch in wait. It would've most likely eaten the Cupid's Grenades it guards by now, so it must be fought.

Sublevel 4

Exiting the canal and entering the green seas, a bizarre creature known as the Demon's Claw awaits the squad in a small chamber surrounded by seagrass. It follows their every move, but as long as a safe distance is maintained, it should go down easy, opening a gate to the next hole. Do be wary of the sides of the arena, however, as some Holdfast Barbasuckers have latched on.

Sublevel 5

Although the light clouds of marine snow are a pretty sight, don't let it distract from the amount of hungry mouths awaiting here. Instead, trick them into mooching off of the Acrobat Flipgroupers to spare the Pikmin in their place. A Hairy Fashionista can be found within a sunken diving bell, while an Astringent Clump is buried halfway in the sands.

Sublevel 6

The largest sublevel, one must work their way up a small trench, dodging various enemies, building bridges, and carving climbing walls out to scale the pit. Midway through, a Pearly Clamclamp with a Juicy Gaggle can be found. Furthermore, when the hole deeper is reached, three bomb rocks could be used on a reinforced gate to open access to a Bug-Eyed Crawmad's arena. It holds a Citrus Lump and two Cupid's Grenades.

Sublevel 7

A round arena with three Aristocrab Offspring arranged in a triangular shape. In the center is a giant pile of sand that bursts to life when approached, revealing the Segmented Crawbster underneath. Thankfully, it is slower and unable to make boulders fall from the ceiling, but caution is still advised. When defeated, it'll drop the Air Revitaliser. There's also an Acerbic Grail buried on the boundaries of the arena, it should be snatched before leaving the cave.
