Krrrzzt! This cave is full of greedy, munching mouths of all types. Studies say intruding on a rich man's property is frowned upon, but at this point, it's all we can do. Besides, we can possibly pilfer some of their more valuable resources in the process! What do you say? – The Ship, upon discovering Connoisseur's Cache

Connoisseur's Cache is the first cave in the Windswept Wonderland, and the third mandatory cave of Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers. Many of the enemies in this cave are gluttonous and have hoarded many objects for themselves. Most of the sublevels take place within crystalline tunnels, while some others are located within garden plains akin to the Snagret Hole of Pikmin 2. Yellow Pikmin are discovered deep within.

How to reach

On Day 4, the cave must be entered to advance the plot. It is found within the landing site of Windswept Wonderland. When the cave is completed, the squad will be taken to a ledge in the overworld with a paper bag on it. Pushing it down will allow for access to both the landing site and the main area.

Sublevel 1

The shimmering crystals on the boundaries of this cave complement the ones the Skutterchucks throw. Use the newly acquired Rock Pikmin to smash these nodules apart. The Grisly Remains are buried in some sediment. The Breadbug in this sublevel likes to steal treasures, so it should be dealt with before it takes either one of them. A crystal gate behind a Red Bulborb blocks access to the Titanic Capsule. The hole deeper is guarded by a clog; a first so far.

Sublevel 2

Compared to the relatively open first sublevel, this one is significantly more compact. One endless corridor has an Armored Cannon Larva in it, which holds a Citrus Lump. Rock Pikmin are best suited for this endeavor. In the center of the sublevel are a few Fiery Blowhogs guarding the Ebony Lotion Cushion. Behind a dirt gate is an alcove with the Snowsheet Berry. A colony of Sheargrubs has nestled near the hole deeper, so caution is advised.

Sublevel 3

This rest sublevel is a garden sublevel enshrouded in a faint periwinkle mist not unlike what is later seen in Misty Badlands. The Mamuta can offer up instant Pikmin blooms, while the Unmarked Spectralids may just be the first place one will find ultra-spicy spray. Candypop Buds for Pikmin exchange are also seen, allowing for full control over what is about to come in the next sublevels.

Sublevel 4

Compared to the previous sublevel, this one is significantly brighter, looking as if it were springtime. There are figworts, barrenworts, slender wild basil, and yellow wood sorrel growing in and beyond the playing field. A small rocky pond is in one part of the sublevel, completely dried out at that; one can even see the white drain lid. One of the Pyroclasmic Slooches is inside this emptied pond. The Megalith Footstool is within an overturned plant pot that functions as an alcove. The Chocolate Fairy's Magic Wand is within another alcove. It is blocked by two spaced-out elevator blocks. They must be separately pushed down to progress through. Once the first one is pushed, the other must be pushed after it is passed. The reverse must be done upon transport of the treasure. Before leaving, do take note of the Poko Posies. A single Poko Pellet is also encased in a small crystal, just barely beyond the boundaries.

Sublevel 5

There is ground ivy surrounding the playing field around this area, and an overturned plastic pail is in the center with a blue trowel resting on it. There's a Whiptongue Bulborb on this sublevel holding the Tricolored Tooth. Behind a crystal gate in an alcove is a Hermit Crawmad, which is in turn guarding an Artificial Fossilizer. Beware the Sparrowhead as well; it can only be reliably hit either while it is still or with Rock Pikmin. A small black plant pot also contains the Broiler Pillow, buried in dirt. The hole deeper is in a bent alcove.

Sublevel 6

Returning to the crystal caves, some bricks and cinderblocks are embedded in the terrain of this area. One cinderblock just out of reach supports the Picturesque Masterpiece, which Red or Rock Pikmin can reach. A large crystal blocks access to a room with a dirt mound with bomb rocks. These rocks can be used to open up an arena with a Spotty Bulbear in it. If it can be bested, the Battered Torus can be claimed. If the going gets tough, a geyser on the opposite side of the chamber will instantly take the squad to the arena's entrance. Finally, the Ivory Lotion Cushion is guarded by two Red Bulborbs in the center of the sublevel, surrounded by a small barrier of white plywood planks.

Sublevel 7

This sublevel is built similarly to the final sublevel of the Hole of Beasts, but instead of an Empress Bulblax, it's a Sausageborb to tussle with. When defeated, it drops the Electro-Director that unlocks the Treasure Gauge. Afterward, a tunnel can be taken to an area with five Yellow Pikmin, trying to complete an electrode circuit connected to a metal gate. Using a pair of Golden Candypop Buds, this circuit can be completed, revealing an inactive Yellow Onion. Once the Onion has been attained, the geyser can be used to return to the surface.
