The Lurking Trowlift is an insect-like creature with a flattened, spade-like body, three pairs of wings, and several short legs underneath its body that it uses to creep along after Pikmin. Once close enough, the Trowlift scoops up the ground underneath the Pikmin and begins to airlift them away. Should the creature escape, it will disappear along with all the Pikmin it carried off, which die once the creature has vanished. To save the captured Pikmin, the Lurking Trowlift must be attacked as soon as it starts flying up, grounding it and forcing it to release its hostages.
