Attacks Spits chilled water at Pikmin

The Icewater Skeeterskate appears in Pikmin: Dual Worlds, where it is a larger and stronger relative of the Skeeterskate. It resides on the surface of its arena's cold water, which it sucks up and then spits at Pikmin to chill and eventually freeze them. Cyan Pikmin are resistant to the chilling effects, but will be enveloped by the water, causing them to sink to the bottom of the water body. They won't drown, warm up, or float to the surface until they struggle free from the water enveloping them, which occurs after whistling them; not whistling them will keep them safe until the end of the battle but also render them unusable until then.

The Icewater Skeeterskate has a lightly armored carapace, rendering it immune to most attacks. It can shoot water in a few different ways, which are in a rapid-fire barrage, in steady bursts, or in a continuous stream; in a rapid-fire barrage, the Icewater Skeeterskate will shoot a rapid series of water droplets towards Pikmin and leaders alike, an attack that consumes the enemy's water slowly; in bursts, the Icewater Skeeterskate will blast large amounts of water at its targets, which will knock them down and only get more dangerous with proximity to the enemy, an attack that quickly consumes its water; and lastly, in a continuous stream, the Icewater Skeeterskare will shoot a continuous stream of water, an attack that consumes the enemy's water at a moderate pace. Because the Icewater Skeeterskate is large, it takes some time for it to completely refill its sac, and while it does so it is open to attack. In order to defeat it, simply wait for it to run out of water and run behind it. Throw Pikmin at its eyes until they are sufficiently harmed, then attack the tube on its back that leads up to its sac. Whistle the attacking Pikmin away when the sac is full because the creature will shake them off, and resume attacking it until it is also sufficiently harmed.

At this point, it becomes blinded not only physically, but also by rage. It begins to refill its sac, and then once it hits what was thought to be its maximum capacity, continues to drink more water. The entire arena is empty, and it's finally ready. After five seconds, it unleashes its final attack, a long-lasting blast of pressurized ice water directed at Pikmin and leaders. The attack must be evaded, as while the beast can't turn around, it doesn't need to because the torrent covers an entire half of the arena. Drops of water splatter everywhere and it punches straight through the floor, causing all the water to be drained from the arena for good. The skeeterskate now not only no longer has water, but is also immobile due to it being gone. The armor around its sac is broken due to the sac's overinflation, and by simply throwing Pikmin onto where its armor once was, the beast is vanquished.
