The Bioluminescent Wollywog is an amphituber that appears in Pikmin 2: New Year as a relative of the Wollywog. They sit idly on land or in water, occasionally croaking or wiping their face. When Pikmin or leaders approach a Bioluminescent Wollywog, no matter the direction, it will turn to face them. If they come close, it will jump above them and attempt to crush them under its weight. In contrast with the Lily Wollywog, the Bioluminescent Wollywog jumps farther than it does higher and can notice anything approaching it from any direction.
Bioluminescent Wollywogs have dark blue skin and spots on either side of their back that almost blend in with it. Their eyes, forelimbs, and underbelly are light blue, but despite their name, the only glowing part of a Bioluminescent Wollywog is its eyes.
Because they can not be caught off-guard, Bioluminescent Wollywogs must be fought head-on. The optimal strategy against a Bioluminescent Wollywog is rapidly throwing Pikmin onto it immediately after it lands. If it jumps while Pikmin are still latched onto it, whistle them off before the creature lands, and throw them back on after it does so. Having enough Pikmin on a Bioluminescent Wollywog at once will prevent it from jumping for a short time.

The Glow Wollywog, also known as the Bioluminescent Wollywog, is a species of amphituber appearing in Pikmin Sunshine. Three variants exist, each with different coloration: a yellow one with green markings and red eyes, a blue one with purple markings and teal eyes, and a red one with yellow markings and purple eyes. While yellow Glow Wollywogs behave the same as any other wollywog, blue Glow Wollywogs jump faster to crush Pikmin at a more rapid pace, and red Glow Wollywogs burn Pikmin upon contact in addition to being able to crush them.
