The Black Ujadani, also known as the Rock Ujadani is a species of ujadite in Pikmin Evolution. They have the exact same body structure as the Golden Ujadani, but are dull black, as their name suggests, with golden eyes. They live in more desolate areas such as deserts, caves, and other dry areas, notably areas the Golden Ujadani can not tolerate. Conversely, Black Ujadani hate the cold and flee when a cold snap reaches their area. Like their cousins, the Black Ujadani are generally hard to find, with a few individuals scattered about their territory with a large central dirt mound acting as a base for the swarm, which, like their relatives, would also act as mounds for Breadbugs, though in this case they are often taken over by Frosted Breadbugs. The Black Ujadani have slightly different behavioral patterns from their golden relatives, as they actively search for and destroy Pellet Posies around their territory to bring the spoils back to their den. Unlike the Breadbug, which can carry any pellet regardless of size and weight, the Black Ujadani needs multiple members in order to lift a pellet to their den, just like Pikmin. This is a good way to track them as, due to their darker color scheme and the cavernous areas they live in, it's much more difficult to find this species overall than the Golden Ujadani despite being just as common. When found, the Black Ujadani are much more defensive of their den than the Golden Ujadani, actively pouncing on Pikmin to attack them. This pounce attack doesn't actually hurt the Pikmin; rather, they pounce so that they can latch onto them and deliver a nasty electric shock, which is notable from other electric attacks in that it instantly kills Pikmin. As such, Wisp Pikmin are the best type to fight against this species as the Black Ujadani are completely harmless to them. Rather than drop nectar, the Black Ujadani drops various pellets when killed, and rather than have said pellets in their den, it instead contains a single piece of refuse.

Notes

Ivy's journal

The Ujadani are very small insects. The Black Ujadani are a special species of insect that store high amounts of energy from the pellet posies that the bugs take to their dens. If threatened, these insects will hop onto any small animal trying to eat them and release all their energy at once through a nasty electric shock. This bug's skin is quite dark, allowing for it to live in hotter areas; but it cannot survive in the cold.

Leni's recipe book

These small bugs, when ground up, make for a good seasoning on most meats. It delivers a shocking flavor.

Marvin's strategy guide

These small guys release pellets when we kill them. Although I am all for picking on animals your own size, sometimes we need the extra supplies. It's best to kill this bug in one whack with a Wisp Pikmin.
