The S.S. Dolphin is the personal delivery ship that belongs to Captain Olimar in the first Pikmin game. It is wrecked when it crashes into a comet during a flight to a vacation spot and 30 of its pieces are scattered; Pikmin involves the collection of these using creatures called Pikmin. When Olimar returns to Hocotate with a fixed ship at the start of Pikmin 2, the S.S. Dolphin is sold to help pay the Hocotate Freight's enormous debt. Some fan games have brought it back, however.

This article or section relates to Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs, a non-canon game created by Cheepy-Cheepy.
In Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs, the S.S. Dolphin was bought back from the Hocotate government by Captain Olimar. It is used to travel to different Territories in the Land of Wonders and different Chambers excluding the Loaf Chamber that must be approached by foot in Dangerous Depths. When stood in front of, Olimar can be healed and view the total amount of Pikmin he has. The absolute maximum amount of Pikmin obtainable is seven million Pikmin.
The S.S. Dolphin reappears in Pikmin Eco, but not as a ship. It is currently retired from being Captain Olimar's spaceship, and instead used as Steven's personal A.I. system companion. Throughout the game it comments on the environment and gives useful tips to help the player progress.
