The Giant Frosted Breadbug appears in Pikmin 251 as a close relative of the Giant Breadbug. It is the larger counterpart of the Frosted Breadbug, and like it, it steps at a dramatically increased pace but only moves slightly faster than an ordinary Giant Breadbug. Upon entering a sublevel one is on, a Giant Frosted Breadbug will emerge from its nest and begin exploring the area, usually alongside the Frosted Breadbugs also present. Upon finding an object it can drag, such as a corpse or a treasure, a Giant Frosted Breadbug will bite onto it and begin dragging it towards its nest. Corpses that are brought into a Giant Frosted Breadbug's nest will be lost forever, but treasures can be recovered by killing the specific Giant Frosted Breadbug that took the treasure into its nest. However, while one of these creatures is dragging an object, it can be overpowered by a sufficient amount of Pikmin, which is usually just under the amount of maximum Pikmin that can carry that object. If not enough Pikmin are holding on, the Giant Frosted Breadbug will continue to drag that object. Pikmin that are still holding onto that object when the creature drags it into its nest will immediately die. After dragging an object into its nest, a Giant Frosted Breadbug will reemerge from it to resume wandering the area.
Giant Frosted Breadbugs resemble Giant Breadbugs in shape and size, but not in color. Its skin is light and its eyes are green. Its blubber is glossy, light blue towards the top and white towards the bottom. A thick, dark stripe separates the two colors on its blubber. Its legs are white, and its feet are of the same color as the top half of its blubber.
Giant Frosted Breadbugs are problematic to kill for a variety of reasons, most of which also apply to Giant Breadbugs, such as not being able to be swarmed or be injured easily. Pikmin can be thrown on top of it, but the only Pikmin that can be used to harm it this way are Purple Pikmin, which will remove only a fraction of its health with each hit. The creature's size and increased speed make this difficult, however, so the optimal method of taking one down is by using an object to cause its head to slam into the Research Pod.

The Giant Frosted Breadbug appears in Pikmin: Wide World as a stronger relative of the Giant Breadbug, having more health. It and its smaller counterpart, the Frosted Breadbug, are only ever encountered underground in Arid Oasis, where they are native. When a sublevel they are on is entered, they will be found already exploring the locations they can access. Objects, such as fruits and treasures, that would normally be sitting out where the Giant Frosted Breadbug can reach them are instead in the creature's nest. These objects can be recovered by having Pikmin enter its nest and digging out the items, similar to a soil mound. Corpses can be recovered through the same method. Because of this, Pikmin that are dragged into a breadbug's nest no longer die upon entering it but will automatically climb out of it. Objects still left sitting out are ones the creature cannot get to or cannot drag. A nest belonging to a deceased breadbug will not disappear, and so objects must be manually recovered from it, and a breadbug's health will not be fully replenished every time it enters its hole; only a fraction of its health will be restored instead. Giant Frosted Breadbugs, being giant breadbugs, are stronger than Frosted Breadbugs, and can drag objects that require up to at least twenty Pikmin to carry. They can be overpowered, however, by having a little under the maximum amount of Pikmin that can lift that object carry that object.
The Giant Frosted Breadbug bears a striking resemblance to the Giant Breadbug in shape and size, but not in color. Like the Frosted Breadbug, the Giant Frosted Breadbug has light skin, green eyes, and colorful blubber. The top half of its blubber is glossy and light blue, like its feet, while the bottom half is white, both colors separated by a thick black stripe.
Battles against Giant Frosted Breadbugs are often annoying and tedious because of their higher health, but also necessary because they would continue bringing objects to their dens. The faces of all breadbugs and the legs of giant breadbugs are vulnerable to attack by any Pikmin type, but the creature will not hesitate to flick them off. The creature's height also necessitates throwing Pikmin onto its face. Charging Pikming towards the creature only result in its legs being attacked, which inflicts minimal damage. The optimal tactic for a faster kill is to use Rock Pikmin or Purple Pikmin. Rock Pikmin are especially useful against this creature as well as other breadbugs because they can harm the beast from any point on its body and inflict plenty of damage overall. Purple Pikmin, on the other hand, are the only other Pikmin type to be able to harm the creature anywhere but its legs and face, by pounding its back. If neither Pikmin type is available, objects can be used to drag a Giant Frosted Breadbug to the Lander Pod, where its head will be slammed against the underside of the device when the object is beamed up, depleting the creature's health by one-third. When a Giant Frosted Breadbug is defeated, it will produce 
× 10 and its corpse can be collected to immediately gain × 10 or later gain fifteen Pikmin seeds of any chosen discovered color when the cave is exited using an escape geyser.

Seeing as breadbugs have no natural predators and are already so resistant to attacks, this step in evolution would not be necessary if it were not for explorers like myself using Pikmin to take these creatures down.”
