Glass Bell is a bronzabell in Pikmin 2... Again?. It is similar to the rest of its kind but has three leaf-like antennae instead of a single long one and is made of glass. It passively flies about in the air and will swoop down at Pikmin and leaders below it to scare Pikmin into a panic before rising into the air again. Though Purple Pikmin are not affected by its signature attack, the Glass Bell can only be killed with Rock Pikmin because of its physiology.

The Glass Bell is a new enemy appearing in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature is mainly found deep in caves. Glass Bells bear a heavy resemblance to the Creeping Bell, like most members of the bronzabell family. The creature is comprised of a solid, translucent, glass-like material. Along with this, numerous ridges can be found on the edges of the creature. One large, glowing eyeball with a light blue sclera and black pupil can be found on the front of the bell. Along with this, the creature has a long, stringy antenna with a glassy cube on the end of it. Unlike most bronzabells, there is no circular sphere inside of it.

The Glass Bell will not appear from above like most bronzabells. Instead, it can be found on the ground, sleeping. If attacked by Pikmin, or merely brushed upon, the creature will awaken from its slumber. It will then float in the air, moving around in straight lines similar to a claw machine. Once the Glass Bell is above Pikmin, it will fall down violently, crushing any Pikmin caught on the sides of the bell. Any Pikmin caught inside of the bell will be digested after ten seconds. Once digested, the Glass Bell will go back into the air to repeat the process. If the leaders and Pikmin leave the enemy's territory, the Glass Bell will return to its origin point and go back to its slumber.

Defeating a Glass Bell is a very simple process. By throwing Rock Pikmin at it constantly, it will begin to show off numerous cracks. After twenty Rock Pikmin slam into the beast, it will suddenly shatter into numerous glass fragments, signifying its death. If no Rock Pikmin are available, a single bomb rock can be used to take out the Glass Bell. Dart Pikmin can also slightly pierce the Glass Bell due to their sharp properties, although it is ineffective. Weighted Pikmin can also damage the Glass Bell, but it does not do as much damage as the Rock Pikmin does.

In Overlord mode, the Glass Bell takes thirty hits to defeat, and the creature will digest Pikmin in half the time. The creature will also be on edge while sleeping, if approached, the beast will charge the Pikmin by sliding into them before getting back up into the air.

Notes

  • P3 Data file icon.png Data file #1: Glass Bells will try to trap your Pikmin to eat them. Attack them right when they smash into the ground!
  • P3 Data file icon.png Data file #2 (Overlord mode): Glass Bells are constantly on edge. Be careful when approaching them.

Olimar's notes

Being an extremely radical creature, the Glass Bell is comprised completely out of crystal. The actual anatomy of the being is all located within its eyeball, brain, and organs, and all processes are found in it. If the eye were to be injured, the Glass Bell would perish in an instant. The crystal also has interesting absorption properties, absorbing any fluids from dead creatures in order to consume for sustenance.

Louie's notes

Although inedible, the creature can be used to create glass bowls and cups.

President’s notes

These giant beasts are made out of pure glass? Maybe I can flatten them out and use them as windows for my factories! The current ones are a bit... outdated. I don’t think windows are meant to grow fungus and black mold...

Overlord’s thoughts

This animal perplexes me. How can such a being be made out of glass, yet be sentient at the same time? How does it eat? How does it live?? I’m going to have to snoop through Olimar’s notes later...
