The Allergenat is a weird enemy in Pikmin: Interstellar Cryptid. Closely related to the Peeper, it's a large flying eyeball inspired by the Cryball enemy from Kirby Mass Attack, being a massive sore eyeball with a blue eyelid and red iris. It supports itself in the air with its orange, dragonfly-like wings. Allergenats often live in areas with intense environmental factors such as deserts. When approached, they'll fly around the squad whilst emitting an upsettingly loud buzzing noise from their wings. Due to the nature of the areas they live in, their eyes are constantly watering, and they often blink as they fly over the squad, causing droplets of their own tears to fall. These teardrops, comparable to Skeeterskate spit, often fall onto the stems of Pikmin and make them drown. They can be brought closer to the ground if multiple Pikmin are thrown onto them.

Notes

Olimar's notes

Allergenats have a curious demeanor and often observe foreign entities with intrigue. However, due to the creature's low tolerance towards certain irritants in the air, it is seldom seen without a thin layer of salty tears coating the rim of its eyelids. While they keep their eyes moisturized, the high salinity levels in their tears make them inedible to most creatures. Like most eyebulbs, the allergenat is a filter feeder that extracts microscopic organisms from the air.

Louie's notes

Scramble the sclera of this creature and cook in a pan over a grill. Once served, drizzle with hot sauce and have hash browns on the side. The finished product is like scrambled eggs, but with a natural briny flavor.

Bentley's notes

Some of the aliens living on this planet are more, well... alien than others. This creature is basically a giant eye with dragonfly wings, staring down all that come near. I really don't like being watched, so when this creature comes near, I just want to run away!

Eloise's notes

I wonder if we put it in an absolutely clean chamber with no irritants to speak of. Would it stop crying? If not, then maybe if I gave it a hug it would feel better. Then again, we've been tossed around into pollen, spores, dust, and crude oil so much that our suits are coated in all of it, so I figure that'll just make it worse.
