The Wogpole is a returning species of amphituber in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature resembles its original variant in p3. The Wogpole will swim around until spotted, whereupon it will swim away frantically. It may occasionally beach itself and flop around until it gets back in the water.

Wogpoles are enemies in the Pikmin games. They resemble tadpoles in appearance, and are in fact the larval form of the frog-like Wollywogs. In the first game, they only appear in the The Forest of Hope and The Distant Spring areas. They are typically a hard-to-get, low-reward enemy in that they are fast swimmers which only give out one Pikmin seed when carried to the Onion. In Pikmin 2, Wogpoles are found in the Awakening Wood and Perplexing Pool areas, as well as the sublevels of certain caves where they have a measly treasure value of one poko. While being chased, Wogpoles may sometimes accidentally beach themselves, flopping about helplessly until they land safely back in the water. As a side note, the Wogpoles in Pikmin 2 seem to be closer to maturation than those in Pikmin 1, as the frilly external gills associated with newborn tadpoles are no longer present.

The Wollywog spawns in early spring, laying its eggs on low-hanging tree branches and shrubs growing in or near lakes and ponds. Such unorthodox amphibious behaviour is a defence mechanism, protecting the eggs from predation by Blue Pikmin and Water Dumples. The Wollywog's wild hopping near the shoreline in early spring is thought to be a method of driving predators away from Wogpole eggs.
The Wolpole returns in Pikmin: New Frontiers, and is the only member of the amphituber family to appear. They can only be found in a single pond in Mesmerizing Marsh, accompanied by Toadpoles.

Wogpoles can be eaten raw, but they're much more flavorable when steamed or grilled. Also heavenly in risotto! Feel free to experiment with this lush ingredient
The Wolpole is a returning species of amphituber that appears in Pikmin: Pitstop. Since they are the immature form of a Wollyhop, they resemble tadpoles, having a bulbous, dark green body with two protruding eyes with white sclerae and black pupils. The Wolpole swims around at high speeds using its long, light green tail.

The Wolpole can be found in water or may fall from above in some cave sublevels. When approached in water, the Wolpole will swim away at high speeds, as they tend to avoid Pikmin. This can be especially annoying, as Wolpoles that swim into Pikmin carrying objects will cause the Pikmin to be knocked back. If the Wolpole accidentally swims out of the water, it’ll become beached, and flop around until it ends up back into the water.

Wolpoles are harmless, and generally not worth going after due to their low seed count. But if necessary, sending a group of Blue Pikmin is the best course of action, as they can quickly swim in the water to pursue the amphituber. Any other Pikmin type can defeat beached Wolpoles.

Same method for both games: follow along its side and try to head it off as it swims away. Wogpoles can't attack, but they can cause flower Pikmin to lose their petals if it shakes them off. Since they only yield one Pikmin seed when retrieved, they're almost always more trouble than they're worth.

These little creatures stay in the water where they're safe, and I mean that. They really are safe when they're in the water. They swim so fast even Blue Pikmin can't keep up! My best bet when fighting them should be to try cornering them or making them get washed up on land.

These Wolpoles are more of a nuisance than an actual threat... – The ship, upon discovering the Wolpole

Notes

Louie's notes

The Wolpoles look like they can be eaten raw, but Olimar told me to stop eating the creatures from this planet... so not today. I guess the Pikmin get to have them instead.

Overlord’s insight

As you can see, this is a Wolpole, or an immature form of the Wollyhop. There are two variants I have seen, and Captain Olimar has seen as well. There’s this dark green variant, which belongs to the Wollyhop. But the blue variant with whiskers, which are rarer to come by, belong to the Yellow Wollyhop. The Yellow Wollyhop is pretty exotic, so I can see why these Wolpoles are quite rare.
