The Medusal Slurker is a pink, floating, translucent jellyfish-like enemy with two small serpentine eyes and a single antenna sprouting from its top that resembles a Seeding Dandelion. It has a green pouch inside its head for storing food. This pouch has an uvula-like appendage hanging from it, which it extends to the ground and expands to trap Pikmin and leaders. The swallowed Pikmin will not die directly from the enemy and will remain inside the Medusal Slurker that captured them until they are freed. The same goes for any captured leaders.
The Medusal Slurker is a returning enemy in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature retains its usual appearance. Medusal Slurkers are initially passive, tending to wander around in the air, making erratic movements. If attacked, however, the Medusal Slurker will drop its sticky goop-like tongue to trap up to ten Pikmin in it. Rubber Pikmin, and Weighted Pikmin cannot be abducted by this creature. Pikmin taken by a Medusal Slurker will not be killed or eaten by it but will be deflowered over time. Along with sucking up Pikmin, a Medusal Slurker will tend to go near treasures and suck them up as well. They may even suck up corpses nearby their territory. No matter how many Pikmin are on the Slurker, it will never fall from the sky. It tends to shake Pikmin off with its erratic movements alone. If a Dart Pikmin hits them, they will begin to slowly lose health. Fur Pikmin can also latch on without falling off, doing decent damage. If killed, the creature will fall to the ground and release all treasure and Pikmin captured.

In Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers the Medusal Slurker acts exactly as it does in p3. It also gains a new larval form called the Polypal Slurker.

The Medusal Slurker is generally passive, usually minding its own business and floating gently above the ground, occasionally moving. However, when a leader or Pikmin approach, the Slurker will hover over where they are standing and drop its uvula-like appendage onto the ground, which expands to capture any Pikmin in its mucus-like structure. It will then suck them back into its transparent body and keep them for the rest of the day, unless the creature is defeated which will free the captured Pikmin. Unlike the similar Jellyfloats, the Slurker does not digest captured Pikmin. It also can never be grounded by Pikmin and will merely shake off Pikmin when agitated by their attacks. It can only keep a maximum of fifteen Pikmin in its body, and if it already has that amount it will just fly around without attempting to use its appendage again. It will also occasionally shuffle about in its flight to indicate its pouch is full.

Attacks Captures Pikmin and treasures, deflowers Pikmin

In Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers the Medusal Slurker acts exactly as it does in Pikmin 3. It also gains a new larval form called the Polypal Slurker.

Notes

Olimar's notes

Using the stalk of cotton-like fluff to catch the wind and drift along, this aerial jellyfish catches objects of interest with its elastic, uvula-like manubrium. It's likely just an expression of interest, as no digestive enzymes have been found in the gelatinous substance within it. This, combined with its lack of stinging nematocysts, makes the medusal slurker as harmless as it is mysterious. One can only wonder how we can use these attributes to our advantage.

Louie's notes

With its naturally fruity flavor, this creature can be transformed into a flavorful sorbet if left in the freezer until firm. Garnish with a candied lemon or its own puff-stalk.

Ship's comments

I stare at it scalping objects from the ground... and I see myself.
