Steel Pikmin are a species of Pikmin appearing in Pikmin: Neo. As the name suggests, they have a metallic, steely appearance, with black leaves and petals. This steel body makes them extremely heavy, giving them the lowest throw height of all Pikmin, even lower than that of Rock Pikmin. They sink to the bottom of bodies of water, to which they can survive exposure. Their metal bodies also give them resistance to magnetism, electricity, and poison. They can also harness magnetism and electricity and use them to power their attacks, giving them homing abilities or increased damage, as well as allowing them to attract metal objects and power machines. However, they also are extremely susceptible to fire and acid, which instantly kill them on contact. As with any other Pikmin type, the only place they and their Onion are obtained from is their vault; in this case, it is the Steel Vault, located deep in an underwater cave.
