The Puckering Blinnow is a small, colorful fish enemy that swims passively in water, usually in groups of three or more. When one spots a group of Pikmin, it swiftly approaches the nearest one, grabs it with its mouth, and swims away with it to eat it. If the blinnow is attacked, it drops the Pikmin and tries to jump out of the water to avoid taking damage. They can also jump out of the water to catch any Winged Pikmin flying overhead and go to the surface to catch any non-Blue Pikmin struggling to swim. Puckering Blinnows are incredibly fragile, but do not go down without a fight, and will go into a frenzy if attacked, possibly even jumping over the surface of the water, or onto land, where they will flop around helplessly.

Attacks Eats Pikmin

The Puckering Blinnow is a returning species of elips in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature resembles its design in Pikmin 4, but its scales have a pinkish hue. The fish can only be found in water, swimming around in large packs. They will swim strategically, snatching Blue Pikmin in the water and jumping out to avoid attacks. Weighted Pikmin cannot be snatched by the fish, but the Pikmin can hardly attack in the water, serving more as a distraction. They are very fast and hard to hit. If the water they are in is drained, the fish will flop around and eventually die.

Notes

Olimar's notes

This fish seems to be in their mating season, due to their pink scales. The scales can help attract mates due to their flashiness. Blinnow eggs are usually dumped in groups of 100 in hidden places like large patches of coral. They must be hidden well, or else they will become food to the numerous aquatic predators in their habitat.

Louie's notes

If rolled up with rice, avocado, and wasabi, this fish makes a good new take on sushi.

President’s notes

I wonder why this fish's lips are so large... Could it be that it's a good kisser? Maybe I'll start a blinnow-spotting business to find out.
