A numbered gate is an obstacle appearing as a metallic indestructible gate with a dot-matrix display on its front. By killing enemies, collecting objects, or completing other tasks, the number on the display will decrease. Once the number reaches zero, the gate will lower.

Metal gates are obstacles in Pikmin 2... Again? as indestructible metal gates that can be lifted or lowered at the press of a button. Another variant has a display that tracks how many enemies must yet be defeated or other requirements that must be completed for it to open.
