Ujadani are very small, orange bugs that scurry about in large swarms situated in a specific location. They ignore leaders, but once a Pikmin draws near, the Ujadani closest to it will start swarming around it. They either move around the Pikmin, hop around it, briefly shake, or jump onto it and let go after a brief moment. The creatures can be attacked by Pikmin, which do so on their own accord even while following a leader. Each time an Ujadani is killed, it has a high chance of releasing nectar or spray drops. Pikmin that are not White Pikmin are affected by the invisible poison the swarms release when attacked or while Pikmin are near, although this occurs so rarely that the threat is negligible.

The Golden Ujadani, also known as the Wood Ujadani or just simply Ujadani is a species of Ujadite in Pikmin Evolution. They have a bit of a visual overhaul since their last appearance, looking more like smooth yellow ticks with tiny red eyes, though their tiny sizes makes these changes hard to notice. Golden Ujadani appear in the more forested areas of the overworld, hidden inside deep alcoves and other secret recesses, though they have a notable hatred for heat not appearing during any heat wave. Their small size makes them very difficult to track and find, so a keen eye is needed to located them. Golden Ujadani cluster around a single dirt mound and act similar to ants, though a few can be spotted patrolling the local area. Sometimes there is a chance for the mound of a Breadbug to spawn as a mound for Golden Ujadani instead, especially if the Breadbug was recently slain. The small size of the Golden Ujadani leaves them easily predated by the larger fauna, particularly members of the Snavian and Burrow-nit family, so even if you can find one they won't last long. Golden Ujadani have a particular liking for nectar, often being found swarming around an egg, however they are too weak to break the egg so by having an outside force break the egg they can slurp up the nectar and take it too their dirt mound den. This allows one to easily find said den, which is crawling with dozens upon dozens of other Golden Ujadani. They are incredibly weak, meaning a single hit can kill them, however be careful as the swarm can scatter puffs of poison to scatter your Pikmin, meaning Roach Pikmin are the best type to kill these enemies with due to ignoring the poison. Golden Ujadani don't drop anything to carry back, however they have a high chance to drop large amounts of nectar and a few seeds of, and the mound they live in can be dug up to reveal many different pellets and sparklium seeds one can carry back, meaning once you find a Golden Ujadani nest, it has the potential to become a small treasure hoard.

Notes

Ivy's journal

Among the smallest creatures on the planet, Golden Ujadani are mainly foragers that live in forested areas. While they lack a traditional eusocial structure, this species seems to be capable of forming large packs, with younger specimens acting as foragers and the older specimens staying at home caring for the young. During winter most members of the pack die, and their dens tend to be taken over by Breadbugs, however they often spread the eggs across a large distance increasing the range of the Golden Ujadani.

Fry in oil until golden brown, then sprinkle a light coating of salt and pepper, makes a great fried food to serve with a sandwich.

They say pick on someone your own size, but since were bigger than these little guys we may be the ones who pick on the little guy, at least they drop good loot.

The Ujadani beetles appear in Pikmin: Infection in Progress, and are found in most areas. Ujadani beetles are exceptionally abundant in Withering Terrace, though smaller swarms appear in Fungal Grotto, Noxious Expanse, Polluted Creek, and Toxic Barrens. They are ignored by all creatures and even sometimes harmless crawl onto them without them reacting. Ujadani beetles can not attack or be attacked.

Their queen serves as the final threat that the President must defeat.

Ujadani are the main cause of the infection that has critically altered and weakened the Distant Planet. Previously being nothing more than a way to farm vast amounts of nectar and sprays, Ujadani beetles have inadvertently caused an epidemic that had infected, altered, and mutated wildlife by spreading their infectious plague across the Pikmin Planet. Although the general population of Ujadani beetles had decreased significantly by the events of Pikmin 2, the population skyrocketed during the events of Pikmin 3, and ultimately climaxed by Pikmin: Infection in Progress. The amount of altered wildlife had risen more the larger the Ujadani population got. Most of the wildlife encountered on PNF-404 have been severely affected by the highly-contagious disease the Ujadani have passed.

Few species are either naturally immune or simply carriers of the virus; some of these specimens are Withering Blowhogs and Phosbats. Other species have ultimately weakened or gained strengths, or have remained neutral; some are Ghoulish Snitchbugs, Vampiric Bulbears and their young, and Undead Water Dumples.
