The Stony Flint Beetle is a large gray flint beetle. Its hind legs are much larger than its front legs, and it can walk on its front legs to push nearby objects such as iron blocks with its back legs. It will continue trying to push even if Pikmin are trying to move it in the opposite direction. Once the object reaches a wall or falls in a gap, the beetle opens its wing casings and flies away; it will also fly away to escape being crushed itself.

The Stony Flint Beetle is a flint beetle in Pikmin: Before the Impact with powerful hind legs, which allow it to push heavy objects, such as boulders. Unlike most flint beetles, it does not drop rewards, as its thick carapace prevents direct hits. Because of this, the only way to kill it is to drop a heavy object onto it.

Notes

Stevvy’s observations

One must imagine a Stony Flint Beetle happy, just pushing around boulders without a care in the world. To be honest, I envy it somewhat. Why can’t I push around boulders without a care in the world? Why can’t I be just like the Stony Flint Beetle?

Natti’s cookbook

The most tender meat is located in the thick hind legs. Throw some Stony Flint Beetle hind legs on the grill, season with various spices, and enjoy with a side of fried Spectralid wings.
