The Pixel Pikmin is a mysterious "Pikmin" type introduced in Pikmin 2... Again?. It is a lifeform made of 3-dimensional, flat pixels, like out of an old video game, resembling an aquamarine Pikmin. Also, the color of its petals matches its body's, and it has transparent sclerae with aquamarine pupils. Like the Cursed Pikmin, the Pixel Pikmin is exclusive to certain game modes, namely Timed Mode and Versus Mode, making them non-canon to the main story, just like the Walking Golden Pikpik Carrot. Appearance-wise, Pixel Pikmin are comparable to Danificritters.

Pixel Pikmin, compared to other Pikmin types, take a substantial amount of time to move, but when they do, they teleport to the place they would be if they had walked normally. They also have a low hit rate but have no advantages to counteract it. Pixel Pikmin also can not be thrown as normal; rather, they hover forward slowly and then back and forth at a certain distance in a straight line, a state in which they phase through anything. Once the Switch A.png is released, the Pixel Pikmin will teleport to where they were, making them useful due to their ability to pass through walls. As an extreme downside, Pixel Pikmin will die instantly if affected by any hazard whatsoever, even ones that are normally nonlethal such as panic, smoke, ice, wither, and even some forms of knockback. They also have a unique, wholly aesthetic death animation, that being to burst into small pixels that then disappear, rather than disappearing and leaving behind an ascending soul. Overall, Pixel Pikmin are very fragile and must be taken great care of.
