Danificritter is an enemy introduced in Pikmin 2... Again?. They are only seen in the'Timed Mode and in the Explore Time cave from the Story Mode. They resemle red spider-like lifeforms made out of flat voxel, like something out of a old video game, they have two long legs ending on a flat foot like of most arachorbs, their eyes are transparent, resembling a angry expression, having two insectoid mandibles, by a coincidence heavily resembling the crab aliens from Space Invaders. Another species made out of pixels was later added, the Pixel Pikmin.
The Danificritter will appear over time, this will cause a 2-dimensional icon of the Danificritter to appear next to the timer causing it to run down faster, seen by the numbers being red. While present on the area, they'll wander around its territory, but once Pikmin and leaders come close the Danificritter it'll jump at them, it'll eat Pikmin, or ite leaders, however, if it misses its mandibles will get stuck into the ground, getting stunned making it vulnerable to attack. Once defeated the Danificritter will explode into pixels that then disappear.
The Danificritter icon animation is definitively inspired by the crab aliens. If there is one or more Danificritters left, the Danificritter icon will have a sweat drop. But once all Danificritters are defeated the Danificritter icon eye's will widen and it'll pop and disappear, causing the timer to finally run as normal.
