It doesn't like the ground, so it went to the extreme and decided to live in... walls and ceilings? Doesn't it feel sick being basically upside-down? Well, apparently they evolved even to stand that, or better saying, the fact they can stay like that. Now I wonder, what's next? Maybe all we need now for our lives to be complete is a flying snavian, or even a Downy Snagret to bring home (sad we can't because they can't leave that planet), who knows?

The Burrowing Snuffin is an enemy appearing in Pikmin 44. It is found all throughout the Arduous Bluff, and in some caves, namely Snuffin Nest and Cliffside Cavern. It resides within a wall, safely nestled inside its burrow, until Pikmin or leaders pass by, whereupon it lunges its neck out to attempt eating them.

Notes

Collin's notes

Unlike other species of Snagret, this creature makes a low grunting sound instead of the usual piercing screech. I honestly prefer it. On the other hand, one sound you never want to hear from this beast is when it loses track of its fledglings. Such a miserable noise is not fit for my sensitive ears.

Brittany's notes

This was the monster that took me as food for its young. I'm glad I could escape, but honestly, I don't blame it. I probably looked so good and tasty that it couldn't resist. If it had stolen my juice on the other hand...

Louie's notes

The hide on this creature is much tougher than your ordinary snavian. The meat on its bones isn't much to write home about. Instead, the bones themselves can be made into an exquisite broth. Add in some homemade pasta and you've made yourself some Snuffin-noodle soup.

Alph's notes

Structural flaw: beak / Weight: 15. Depending on where in the wall it burrows determines its relative difficulty. The lower to the ground it is the easier it is to throw Pikmin onto its feathered head. If it's particularly high up you might need to rely on Yellow or Winged Pikmin to take it out.

Shepherd's notes

Oatchi is an efficient digger for sure, but he comes nowhere close to the excellence that this creature achieves. If only Oatchi was able to dig this fast. Then I could open up a whole excavation company back home. I'm not sure how lucrative it would be, but it would sure bring in more money than the Rescue Corps does.

Charlie's notes

Unfortunately, the wall this creature emerges from prevents you from sneaking up behind it. However, if it's low enough to the ground you should be able to hide under its long body, thus preventing it from being able to reach you.

Olimar's notes

Burrowing Snuffin / Shiropedes praecepes / Snavian family. While most snavians avoid rocky cliffsides, it seems that the Burrowing Snuffin thrives in such locations. They have an excellent balance that holds them up along the edges of cliffs. This also proves as a great hunting opportunity, as many nesting critters call the cliffsides their home. They also possess tougher skin which allows them to worm their way through the rockier cliffs.
