The Empress Breadbug is an optional mini-boss encountered in Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs. It is found in the Loaf Territory and fights alongside the Emperor Breadbug. The Empress Breadbug appears similar to a baguette, a type of bread used to make sandwiches. It attacks the same way that an Empress Bulblax attacks, but looks far from the same from one. The attack pattern is identical for the Empress Breadbug and Empress Bulblax for the first half of the fight: they both roll back and forth after taking enough punishment. Rolling back and forth may cause the Empress Breadbug to accidentally crush members of its own family. To awaken it, Captain Olimar must awaken it as an Empress Bulblax would be awoken; throwing Pikmin onto it. Continue punishing the Empress Breadbug until it reaches half of its maximum health. When it reaches half health, the Empress Breadbug will take on a new form of attack: burrowing into the ground and rising up to devour Pikmin periodically. The Empress Breadbug will attempt to rise up from beneath a group of Pikmin. If successful, it will eat a maximum of five Pikmin each time. Once the Empress Breadbug has suffered enough damage, it will retreat into the ground to rise once again. The Empress Breadbug will attack very similarly to a Sandbelching Meerslug during this phase; the ground will even bulge where the Empress Breadbug is. Continue this process and the Empress Breadbug will soon be defeated. When the Empress Breadbug is defeated, it will slowly crawl completely onto the ground, uttering one last cry before it finally succumbs. The Empress Breadbug will succumb almost identically to an Empress Bulblax; all of its sections will explode save for the one connected to the head.
The Empress Breadbug is a species of matriarchal breadbug.

The Empress Breadbug is a massive, elongated breadbug appearing in Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs as what could be considered the breadbug counterpart of the grub-dog family's Empress Bulblax. It fights alongside the Emperor Breadbug in the Loaf Territory, where both breadbugs are fought at the same time. It sleeps peacefully on the ground, awakening only if it is harmed, also causing the Emperor Breadbug to erupt from the ground, or if the Emperor Breadbug is interacted with.

The Empress Breadbug is a massive, grublike creature with the head of a Breadbug, its legs and feet dangling underneath, and a body that resembles a row of plain donuts of varying size.

The battle against the Empress Breadbug, and in turn the Emperor Breadbug, is optional but does yield great rewards. Its attack pattern consists of burrowing into the ground, its location signified by the ground bulging, and erupting from the ground underneath of Captain Olimar and his Pikmin to eat them, up to ten Pikmin at a time. Afterward, it will become stranded on dry land and struggle back into the earth, during which it is vulnerable and helpless to attack. When the Empress Breadbug is defeated, it will roar before it succumbs and all but its head segment harmlessly explode for easy carrying.
