The Wraith Blob is a strange enemy that appears in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature, seemingly resembling a large blob like the Goolix, also has a clear coloration like the Waterwraith. The Wraith Blob is a small blob of the larger beast's body, being found detached from it. Along with this, one small, dark red orb is located inside of the blob of plasma.
Wraith Blobs can rarely be found deep underground in caves, where they will slowly slurk around in search of prey, being Pikmin. Upon doing so, they will slowly move toward the Pikmin and engulf them, similar to a Goolix’s attack. These Pikmin will get stuck in the small puddle, and begin to drown. However, Blue Pikmin cannot drown in this plasma. If Blue Pikmin begin to attack the Wraith Blob, it will suddenly begin to shake violently before releasing a large cloud of poison into its body, which can choke the Blue Pikmin. If whistled, the Blue Pikmin will escape the cloud of poison. The poison will remain in the blob for five seconds before dissipating in the blob’s body.
Defeating a Wraith Blob is very easy. Blue Pikmin and Weighted Pikmin are the only types that can be used against the blob due to its aquatic properties. Weighted Pikmin can instantly kill the blob in a single smash, making them the best candidate for taking them out. Alternatively, Ice Pikmin can be used to freeze the blob, which can then be shattered. Once defeated, the plasma and orb within will boil away.
In Overlord mode, the Wraith Blob can turn into another type of non-boss wraith when defeated. It will glow a color that corresponds with the wraith that it chose to transform into and then become that wraith.
Notes
- Data file #1: Wraith Blobs have a similar composition to water.
- Data file #2: Even if Blue Pikmin attack the Wraith Blob, it can still spray out poison.
- Data file #3 (Overlord mode): Once defeated, Wraith Blobs will transform into another wraith type!
Olimar's notes
- “This species of wraith acts independently from the Waterwraith once separated and is thus classified as a different species entirely. The Waterwraith can produce these different wraiths from its supernatural plasm to more efficiently hunt for food and protect its territory. This species acts as a baseline, or “root” for all of the other more advanced wraith minions; as it’s extremely primitive. It does, however, have a noxious toxin gland which it uses to digest prey it catches.”
Louie's notes
- “Inedible… Tummy hurts…”
President’s notes
- “…I wonder if you can drink this…”
Overlord’s thoughts
- “When I was hunting down Olimar, I created a few of these smaller goons to cover more ground. I probably should’ve spent more time designing this guy, though. He’s a bit… basic in nature.”

The Wraith Blob is an enemy appearing in Pikmin: The Winds of Light, specifically in sublevel three of the Royal Wraith's Palace, where it appears near the edges of the arena during round six. It resembles a translucent royal purple blob with a crown. It benefits the Royal Wraith by replenishing its health by firing globs of itself at it and eventually reappears after being defeated. To defeat it, simply land a Purple Pikmin on it. Its attacks and appearance are similar to that of the Royal Polyp from Spiral Knights.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “The Wraith Blob seems similar in shape and texture to a Goolix and Waterwraith, respectively. If it wasn't for the lack of a nucleus, I might have thought it was related to the Goolix. Anyways, these blobs seem to have an infinite source of material that, even after destruction, returns. It also seems to heal wraiths. More studies will be conducted in the future.”
