The Calcified Crushblat is a strange creature, apparently just a head with a pair of long, chicken-like legs. Its head is usually protected by a thick layer of calcification which can only be broken off by Rock Pikmin and similar Pikmin, as well as with bomb rocks. This creature is a passive one, only waking from its slumber if something approaches it. The Calcified Crushblat will start out sitting on the ground with its legs folded underneath it. From a distance, it would look like nothing more than a crystalline rock. Once a Pikmin or leader approaches it, it will stand up and begin walking around the area, attempting to sit on the creatures and crush them. If its armor is still on, it will crush all Pikmin except for Rock Pikmin and Winged Pikmin and similar Pikmin. If the armor is gone, it will only knock back the Pikmin underneath it, but if the Pikmin happens to be directly underneath the Crushblat, it can be buried. The Crushblat moves at a rather fast pace, despite its appearance.

In Pikmin 3.9, the Calcified Crushblat is a miniboss that behaves exactly as it does in Pikmin 3. The Calcified Crushblat appears in the Ravaged Rustyard without its shell, able to deliver increased knockback. Its arena has a poison gas cloud in front of its entrance, meaning only White Pikmin can enter it. On top of that, the arena is surrounded by a moat of water that the Crushblat will try to knock the Pikmin into.

The Calcified Crushblat is a returning Pikmin 3 creature in Pikmin Eco. While it itself doesn't appear until after the main story's completion, its relative, the Shrubby Crushblat, does make a notable appearance. Its behavior is slightly tweaked in that its health is higher and it moves slightly slower. The biggest difference is its calcified shell: rather than breaking off in pieces, the entire shell breaks completely after a combined total of sixty hits.
