The Vulcan Blowhog is a species of hypertrophic blowhog appearing in Pikmin Evolution, being the hypertrophic variant of the Fiery Blowhog. It shares a similar body style to that creature, however instead of being pure white, its not jet black with glowing orange eyes, making it almost as if its covered in ash. The Vulcan Blowhog acts in a similar way to its fellow hypertrophic relatives, those being the Yeti Blowhog and Leviathan Blowhog, where it will roam its territory, showing great aggression to ice-based creatures, but fleeing from water-based creatures. Fighting the Vulcan Blowhog is dangerous as when it charged its attack it sucks in large amouts of air, while its air suction attack isnt as strong as the Leviathan, its not as weak as the Yeti, its a good middle ground. Anyone who gets sucked into the Blowhog's mouth will be eaten and killed, so be careful. When it charges its mouth it will spew out a stream of broiling lava, which lathers the ground of the battlefield it is fought in, this limits movement as well as burns anyone who touches it, sans Elixer Pikmin. When the lava does touch an Elixer Pikmin when launched, they will be pushed back into the abyss below. As previously stated Elixer Pikmin are immune to this attack, so if you can dodge being pushed back you should be all good. However it should be noted that this creature is immune to the damage boost when getting lit, so you instead have to rely on syrups. Notably the soggy blue syrup is an excellent choice to use when the Vulcan Blowhog is sucking it air. If it sucks in this moist syrup it will have its fire producing organs badly injured, making it only shoot out a harmless watery mud that mearly push Pikmin back very weakly. This makes it completely defenseless, however be careful as after a while it will shoot out a large flaming boulder from its mouth, unclogging its systems and making it able to fight once again, so don't attack its face in this weakened state. Overall while the Vulcan Blowhog is indeed tougher to fight compared to the Fiery Blowhog, its not that much worse since its weak to the same strategies as the standard Fiery Blowhog.
