The Ancestral Hunting Ground, also known by Yuki's name for it, “Giant Monster's Home”, is the ninth area in Pikmin: Antarctic Survival, and the last of the Antarctic's areas in numerical order. This area is unique among the Antarctic's regions for only having a single creature native to it: the region's tyrant, the Apex Predator. Despite, or because of, this unique property, the Ancestral Hunting Ground is considered the most dangerous area in the entire Antarctic. The Apex Predator is the most aggressive and territorial of all the Antarctic's tyrants, and it considers the entire region to be its territory. As soon as it spots a creature in its territory, the Apex Predator will charge at it at blinding speed and attack, using a combination of rushes, bites, and elemental attacks to bring down the intruder. The Apex Predator spends each day and night roaming the region, and its strong sense of smell leads it to any possible prey that stumbles into the area. Even the strongest creatures of the Antarctic avoid the Ancestral Hunting Ground due to the sheer power and ferocity of its roaming Tyrant.

Despite its dangers, the Ancestral Hunting Ground holds a variety of valuable resources for those who can brave the Apex Predator. The raw material chunks found in the region are larger than those found in any other area, even outweighing the chunks found in the Empire Field. These raw material chunks often have a carry weight of 50 or more, with some having weights in the hundreds. In addition to the massive amounts of raw material, the Ancestral Hunting Ground is also the only region of the Antarctic where explorers can find scrummy bones. These bones are spread throughout the Ancestral Hunting Ground, being the Apex Predator's favorite snack. Many of them are also buried below the ground and often require White Pikmin or other creatures that can sense buried objects to retrieve. The reason for the large number of buried bones is due to the region's tyrant itself. The Apex Predator will commonly bury bones that it plans on uncovering and enjoying later, only for the beast to forget where it buried them and leave them there permanently.

Layout

The Ancestral Hunting Ground, like other areas of the Antarctic, is covered in snow all throughout the area. Uniquely among other areas, the Ancestral Hunting Ground is also covered in a variety of discarded and abandoned objects of all shapes and sizes. Rusty metal components, broken glass bottles, crushed cans and cardboard boxes, and other rubbish are found in piles and mounds all over the Ancestral Hunting Ground. These discarded objects are entirely worthless, lacking any Sparklium contents or other properties that would make them valuable. Instead, they serve as nothing more than an eyesore decorating the environment.

Several smooth grey stones are scattered throughout the Ancestral Hunting Ground, intermittently dotting the landscape and providing a small amount of cover for creatures in the area. These stones slightly resemble unmarked gravestones, contributing to the feeling of gloom that hangs over the Hunting Ground.

Sparse clusters of plants are also spread throughout the region, such as patches of clovers and shoots of various sizes.
