The Shard-tailed Whelpmite is an uncommon flugitile in Pikmin: Dual Worlds that can whip its tail to fling shards of crystal off of it. These crystals can be used to impale Pikmin as well as create small obstacles on the ground. It can also use its tail to crush Pikmin. Its claws are notably very large in this stage of its life. This species grows into the Scorching Draconamite, gaining the ability to fly, as well as spew oil and fire. The Shard-tailed Whelpmite may be found being ridden by some variety of Excalivlet, though they will also often be found aside or nearby them.
