Pikmin: The Rising Darkness, also Pikmin: The Darkness Rising in NA, is a Wii game released for Nintendo Wii in 2010. It involves a dark energy that threatens to destroy the galaxy. The source is at the Pikmin Planet, so the company sends Olimar and Louie to find the cause.
Story
The story begins with Olimar taking a stroll in the park, with his son and Bulbie. As his son and Bulbie run off playing Olimar looks at the sun and smiles to himself. He then starts to play frisbee with his son and Bulbie. Meanwhile... the other side of the sun that the Hocotatians can't see is shrouded in darkness. On the Planet of the Pikmin, a red, yellow and purple Pikmin, stare up at the darkness. As they stare into it a huge meteor crashes into the planet. The Pikmin luckily survive the explosion. The rock then emerges from the ground to reveal a face. The creature licks the three Pikmin up, and burrows deep into the planet. Back on Hocotate, Olimar is lying on the grass, sun on his face. Suddenly, a sleek, black ship lands beside him, with Louie and some men dressed entirely in black. They take Olimar into the ship and fly towards the cloud of shadow-and towards the Pikmin planet.....
Objective
The player must collect treasure, to raise money for a drill that can burrow to the source of the shadow.
