The Scorching Draconamite is a very large flugitile that appears in Pikmin: Dual Worlds as one of the two bosses of Slice Citadel, along with the Swordmaster Knightivlet. It is capable of carrying it's counterpart around on its back, which has a saddle on it. Its soft underbelly is covered in melted together scraps of metal, attached to the saddle, which holds both it and the saddle to the creature. It has crystal spines on its tail and on its back, and near the end of its tail it is completely covered in the sharp stones. The spines can be thrown off and at high speeds will bury themselves in the ground. The creature can intentionally cause them to crack while still on its body so that they shatter into dangerous shards on impact with the ground. The crystal shards, as can the normal crystals, can be broken by Rock Pikmin, though the creature can also coat them in oil and then set them on fire to prevent this for a time. It can, as mentioned, spew oil from its mouth, and can breath fire. The oil is also, as mentioned, flammable, though it burns slowly. It has wings and can fly, and said wings constantly produce this same oil, which can be set on fire by the creature and is in fact done so at the start of its fight. Its wings can not by damaged, as Red Pikmin cannot latch on and Rock Pikmin catch on fire. While it is flying it can slowly regrow its spines, and it tends to do so after any attack in which it shoots them off. It has many rows of teeth, which are small and pointy, and it can use said teeth to eat Pikmin. It has a wide array of attack patterns, which I will write eventually. And by eventually I mean tonight. Probably. I'm going to write some of them right now but that won't be all of them.

Its first phase mostly consists of it breathing fire, eating Pikmin, and making trails of oil while it flies around, though it will also swat your squad with its tail. It attacks mostly independently of the Swordmaster Knightivlet, though it may attempt to back your squad into a corner while the Knightivlet attacks you and your Pikmin. It may sporadically throw crystal shards to create obstacles around the arena, which the Swordmaster Knightivlet can jump onto the top of and both it and the Scorching Draconamite can destroy. Both the Swordmaster Knightivlet reaching 3/4 health and its armor being removed, which can be done by attacking the leather straps connecting it to the saddle, will start phase two.

The second phase can go drastically differently depending on whether the Swordmaster Knightivlet is harmed or the Scorching Draconamite's armor is removed. If the Swordmaster Knightivlet is harmed, the Scorching Draconamite uses more powerful attacks, whereas if the armor is removed the Swordmaster Knightivlet
gets faster. In both circumstances the method used causes the other to become more dangerous, and the duo use attacks that tend to force you to confront the angered one instead of the one that was opened to attack. Due to the variation regarding whether the second phase's attacks revolve around the Scorching Draconamite or the Swordmaster Knightivlet, Phase 2B, in which the Draconamite's armor is removed, is going to be covered on the Knightivlet's page, and 2A, in which the Knightivlet is harmed, is going to be covered here.
