Plot
spoiler
After Olimar, Louie, and the Pikmin rescued The President and defeated the Empire Deathstool they triumphantly returned to Hocotate. Once at home Olimar took a short break away from work with his family. When he returned to work he was surprised by his employer with a special mission: return to the Pikmin Planet and study the wildlife there more in-depth than before. Olimar gladly sped out in his newly repurchased S.S. Dolphin towards the third-planet of the alien sun. Luck was not on his side, however; because Space Pirates attacked him when he was just outside the Pikmin planet's orbit. They quickly overwhelmed him and shot out the Dolphin's engines, sending his prize ship again hurtling down towards the planet. The last thing he remembered was being sucked into a grey-colored Onion.
endspoiler

Pikmin:Redemption(or PR for short) takes place at the same time as Pikmin 2, but in a mirrored reality where before leaving the Pikmin Planet Olimar taught the pikmin some things. He taught them how to speak English and how to fend for themselves. The most important thing he taught them is how to train a pikmin to lead a group of pikmin. After Olimar left the planet, the pikmin started to fend for themselves. The pikmin even found some caves. There was one cave though, that the pikmin always were unconfortable to go in. It had been named the "Dream Den"
Contents
because those who went into and came out of this cave had horrible nightmares and died soon after they woke up. One day a pikmin leader of a color you pick decides to see what is in that cave for himself(or herself).

PR is pikmin game like none seen before it. You get to chose a pikmin color to start as and even get to name it.You also determine its gender which plays a big role in the story of the game. PR is on the Wii and is rated E for Everyone for cartoon violence and animated blood.

The pikmin don't remember much of anything but, there is one thing the pikmin will always remeber. That one thing is Captain Olimar. He brought the pikmin tribes together at a time when a pikmin civil war was deemed emminent. He taught the pikmin his language(english) and greatly increased pikmin populations so that they pikmin will always have a strong army. He taught one pikmin of each color how to lead a group of pikmin and how to get the other pikmins' attention . Most importantly though, he discovered a mysterious candycop bud with the power to fuse pikmin and their powers together, but Olimar feared this strange plant's power and sealed the bud away in the hidden fifteeth floor of the Dream Den( a cave that Olimar discovered before he left). Now the pikmin, without Olimar but with leaders to guide them, refuse to go near the Dream Den because of the dark energies below. That is except for one brave group of pikmin....(Yours)

Rewards
Play as Pikmar
After you beat the game once you will see a message saying you have unlocked Pikmar. When you start a new game you will have the option to play as any of the pikmin leaders, then the option to be Pikmar. This is just a skin and is no different fom the pikmin you selected to play as. You can switch between the Pikmar skin and normal skin at the in-game menu.
Crystal Pikmin forever?
This is unlocked the same way as the Pikmar skin is. It makes all of your pikmin to look like Crystal Pikmin. Beware, they don't have the same powers as Crystal Pikmin so this skin could cost you many pikmin. It is suggested to only use this if yopu do not intend to save after the day ends.
Challenge Mode just won't die
Beating the game unlocks the Pit of Redemption for the main menu. You get to choose what kind and how many pikmin you enter the pit with but you can;t get a perfect on any of the challenges unless you play from the main game. Also Challenge Mode data is saved after you beat the game so you keep your hard work in Challenge Mode saved for your next run. There are also extremely well hidden portals that can take you to a section of The Pit before you see the Great Calamity, but those are only parts of it . The only way to see the full pit is in Merged Nothingness.
Cheats
Easy Pikmin Propagation
If you go outside the western-most gate , the one that is covered with vines and doesn't appear on the map. in the Settlement in Olivert you will find a field of 1,5, and 7 Pellets waiting to be harvested.Don't walk too far into the field or else you will be attacked by twenty Burrowing Snarrows.
Tan Pikmin
Tan Pikmin. You could easily go the whole game and never  get them to join your team. There is a way; however, to have them join you. First, make sure you have at least 100 of every other type of pikmin except for Tan. Go to the Map screen and make every onion go to a different area. If one are doesn't have an onion, or one area has two or more you have messed up. After dispersing the onions got to the closes area's landing site pull out 100 pikmin in the onion there and dismiss them. Head to the next area and  do the same. Repeat until every area has 100 pikmin on the fields. Head to where the Tan Pikmin are and go up to the lock stopping you. Punch it two times and the gate will fall down and you will meet up with the Tan Pikmin
Codes
Sound Test
In order to get the sound test you must input the button combination below at the main menu.
A+B,2,1,+and-,C,Z,Rotate the Control Stick 360 Degrees,Home+A+B
After that you will get a confrimation message saying you unlocked Sound Test and the "New Allies" theme will play.
Confirmation of Delivery sent
Pressing the below button combination at the in-game menu will show you how many treasures you have/ how treasures there are total, discovered resources /total resources, enemies discovered/total enemies, favorite pikmin to use, least favorite pikmin to use, enemy you killed the most of, enemy you lost the most pikmin to, and play time.
B+A+C,1,2,C+Z,+and-,B,A,C.HOME+A+B
Stage Editor Mode
This code allows you to basicly build your own levels and move treasures and enemies. You can "Paint" the terrain with terrain tools, move objects and the landing site. You can take enemies from the Piklopedia and place them on to the ground and set patrol paths for the spotty bulbear and more. This is hard to get, though. First, you have to put A,+,B,B,Z,A,-,+,B,B,left D-Pad and up D-Pad into the main menu. then, you have to go to Bald Mountain to the summit. the usual Burrowing Snagret is not there. Instead, there is a Drooing Dandelion. Defeat this foe that only appears here and it dropps a blue marble.

Killerbreadbug72 has agreed to help make this. It will eventually be made into a video game  you can get for free if you ask me realy nicely. I also hereby give KBB72 the power to change things about Redemption.
Treasures
There are no treasures in this game. So, if you see a man-made item, it is an upgrade. These are beneficial for your Pikmin. Some are good for all, while some are only good for a particular Pikmin type. Players have to make your decision carefully as once an upgrade is applied it can never come off. These can be used to build walls, swords, and shields to help defend your landing sites.
