Pikmin: Galactic Journey is a Pikmin game with mechanics similar to that of Pikmin 2, but has many new features as well, including planetary travel and spray mixing.
Plot
Sometime after the events of Pikmin 3, after the Hocotatians and Koppaites left PNF-404, a barrage of glowing green meteorites attacked the planet. Eventually, PNF-404 broke into five giant chunks as a mysterious, green gas cloud loomed over it. Meanwhile, on Hocotate, one of the green meteorites was flung into the planet, almost shattering it and causing a massive tremor. Captain Olimar, who was repairing the tattered Hocotate ship, was knocked over by the tremorts. The President rushed to Olimar with Louie by his side and convinced him to find the source of the tremor. Luckily, Olimar had repaired enough to the point where it could fly again, and prepared to lift off with Louie. Before they could take to the skies again, Olimar's wife dashed over and tried to convince him to take Sagittarius with him, as he was constantly begging Olimar to take him on a trip to outer space. Olimar reluctantly agreed, but the Hocotate Ship complained that there were only two cockpits. Olimar and The President shoved Louie into the ship's hull, and the trio of Olimar, Louie, and Sagittarius took off to find the source of the tremor. Just then, another green meteorite smacked the ship from behind and sent them sailing toward the shattered PNF-404.
The ship crashed and banged its way onto the surface of the planet, barely able to land. Olimar and Sagittarius exited the ship's cockpits and spotted some Pikmin off in the distance. Upon closer inspection, the Pikmin turned out to be yellow.
