Satellite Koppai is one of the three caves located in the Jungle of Repose in Pikmin 2: New Year. The cave, despite taking place underground, actually takes place in deep space. The dialogue insinuates that Olimar, Louie, and the Pikmin were abducted, perhaps by alien spacecraft, or a Koppai spaceship as mentioned by the ship, from above as they ventured through the cave. The sublevels are mainly space-, metal-, and disco-themed, filled with hostile extraterrestrial creatures such as Toady Bloysters. The main boss of the cave is the Ranging Bloyster, suggesting bloysters are extraterrestrial. The total price of treasures in the cave is × 1,385, with the Forged Courage being the main treasure.
How to reach
“ | Another basic cavern. Pretty simple. Could have some valuable treasure! ...Why does it feel like something is above us? I am the only ship here surely! | ” | – The Ship, upon discovering Satellite Koppai |

The cave is found where the Subterranean Complex is located in Pikmin 2. Kill the Two-Tone Trigger Groink, the Orange Decorated Cannon Beetle Larva, the Cloaking Burrow-nit, and the Fiery Blowhog in the way, and tear down the poison gate standing in the way of the cave's entrance.

Take out the bloyster first, then the wollywog, then the jellyfloats. Find the Iridescent Glint Beetle, as it contains one of the treasures. The gas pipes present in the sublevel may necessitate killing enemies with White Pikmin.

This sublevel is very large, containing three large platforms connected with long, blue bridges. All three treasures are either positioned above the ground or buried under it. Kill the blowhogs and jellyfloats, but try to avoid the Fiery Bulblax due to its extreme hostility. If it must be confronted, try to lead it off of the edge.

Take out the wollywogs first, as they are the most dangerous. Take out the two jellyfloats afterward. The Antenna Beetle can lead Pikmin into the electrical currents of Anode Beetles, so make sure to take it out along with them. If the Alkaline Dweevils pose a threat while carrying treasures, kill them as well.

This sublevel is a rest area, so no strategy is required. Oddly, this sublevel takes place on a satellite instead of a meteor this time. Mamutas can be used to advance Pikmin into flowered Pikmin. Invisible barriers prevent falling off the sublevel.
Sublevel 9
- Theme: Disco
- Music: Disco
- Treasures:
- Enemies:
- Ranging Bloyster × 1 (contains the Forged Courage)
- Toady Bloyster × 2
- Obstacles:
- None
- Vegetation:
- Clover × 8
- Others:
- None
The final floor contains the vicious Ranging Bloyster. Before taking it down, kill the other two nearby Toady Bloysters to avoid distractions. When fighting the Ranging Bloyster, take note that while it is on the elevated center of the floor, its tail will be very hard to throw Pikmin onto from a lower lever. Switch positions with the Ranging Bloyster to gain the upper hand. Alternatively, use Purple Pikmin to take down the bloyster.
