The Crossroads is the very first area in The President's Adventure game, which is where the player will find himself in the adventure. Here, the player will fist meet the enemies and the gameplay, new treasures and the Pikmin.

Guide

Time Period

  • Every day - means that, even if the enemy or thing is defeated, it will reappear the next day and every day after that.
  • Sometimes - means that, after defeated, the enemy or thing will appear after a short or long period of time.
  • Rarely - means that, even without being defeated, the enemy or thing will appear in rare ocasions.

Places

  • Same place - means that the enemy or thing will always be on that same place, even if it is defeated.
  • Spread around - means that the enemy or thing may appear on different places every time it appears.

Replacing Criteria

After a period of days, weaker enemies may be replaced by stronger, to fit to the player's skills. As the game runs, it's normal that the player may become more skilful.

Appearing Criteria

As stronger enemies will replace the weaker ones after a certain ammount of days, stornger enemies might also appear from nowhere to complicate the game a little more.

Sections

The Landing Site

The landing area with grassing like floor and five shapes for the Pikmin Onions (the Red, the Blue, the Yellow, and the new White and Purple Onions) and for The President's ship, Mayor. When the player first come in this level, he is guided by Mayor through all the steps of the gameplay, then, teaching the player the basics of the game. It's the smallest section of the entire area.

Wildlife

The Garden

The only exit from The Landing Site section will lead the player to The Garden section. With an all grassy floor and several areas decorated with flowers, this is a nice looking enviroment, and most enemies present here are related to gardening things. The first time the player steps in this are, it meet the Red Pikmin, and must fight a Dwarf Red Bulborb (the first fight in the game). Here's also the first cave in the game, as well as the second one, a little bit further. Two different kinds of Pikmin are first met in here: The Red (finding his Onion) and the Purple (in cave).

Pikmin

Caves

  • Velvet Passage (Available after discovering the Red Pikmin)
  • Buoy Base (Available after beating the cave Velvet Passage)

Wildlife

Treasures

  • Pikmin Trap (Bird Cage) - Using White Pikmin, the treasure can be located in one of the flower beds spread around the area.
  • Tiny Pool (Spoon) - Defeating the Breadbug that appears here after five days will make the treasure appear.
  • Eye Of Oblivion (Magnifying Glass) - With Yellow or Tanookimin, the player can acess a higher area where lies the treasure.
  • Survivor's Tool (Axe) - Using Blue Pikmin, the player must be able to take the treasure off the small water part.

The Mountains

From one of the two exits in The Garden section, the player reaches The Mountains sections. There are no exits from this section, and to get to the another one, the player must return to The Garden and then enter The Snowy Plains. Here, designed to look like just a mountain, enemies don't change a lot, but the big discovery is the found of Yellow Pikmin and his Onion. Also, inside the cave present here, is when we first met the Gold Pikmin and his shinying guts.

  • Snuggly Toy (Teddy Bear) - The treasure lies at the end of the section, where there's no more way to go.
  • Pointy Weapon (Fork) - Using Purple Pikmin, breaking down a wall will reveal the treasure.
  • Creator's Device (Pencil) - Defeat one of the Mamuta that carries the treasure.

The Snowy Plains

The semi-final section in the area is connected with only The Garden section and has no way out, except for The Secret Area section. Blue Pikmin are first met here, such as the Tanookimin, inside the last cave, which is also here. Also here, the player fight water based enemies for the first time, since it's watery here then all other sections. Blue Pikmin are the most instructed for use, since water takes most of the place. Sometimes, here, snows.

  • Five Room House (Dirty Glove) - Using Blue Pikmin, destroy a wall that blocks the way, then build the wood bridge and use Yellow Pikmin to reach the high spot where the treasure lies.

The Secret Area

The Secret Area section is a special area that requires all kinds of Pikmin (except Gold, Tanookimin and Skull Pikmin) to get in. The path to it has several hazards, each one designed for a different type of Pikmin to kill. Getting here, the player will find the Onions of the Purple and White Pikmin, that can join the Onion party, even after the Purple and White Pikmin have been found and stored in the ship.

The Crossroads

Astonishing! How can one only small piece of terrain be this random? I felt like in an action movie. Fighting bad guys in a garden in one minute, and then the other looking for treasures in a very cold place! It's impossible to know where you're going here, but keep in mind, you're going somewhere. A little tip: bring a coat, an umbrella and sun block. It may be sunny. It may be cold. Just keep in mind. It'll be something.
