Attacks Eats Pikmin, sprays water and sand, causes panic

The Trunk-Nosed Bulboar is a rare species of grub-hog in Pikmin: Neo and the adult form of the Lesser Trunk-Nosed Bulboar. It is a gray-hided creature with large ears and a small tail. The namesake of this species, however, stems from the large trunk-like nose on its face. This trunk allows it to grab high branches and pull them down to eat the otherwise unreachable leaves and fruits. Dwelling in dry savannas, this species lives close with its young in small herds. Adults often bathe in the cool waters of the few pools in these biomes, with their children riding on their backs. They are relatively peaceful but are territorial of larger creatures and use their trunk to blare out a piercing roar that scares them away. This roar also panics Pikmin, scattering them in the process. If that doesn't work, the bulboar will use its trunk to grab the Pikmin and eat them, or suck up nearby water and sand to either drown or bury them. When at low health, it picks up stones to toss at Pikmin. This, combined with their tendency to live in numbers, makes them some of the more dangerous creatures to encounter. When attacking these beasts, Purple Pikmin and Rock Pikmin are the best Pikmin to use.

Notes

Olimar's notes

It seems on my travels I have already seen an endangered species. From my observation, this species is already being pushed out of its habitats by the bulbear species. This led them to the savannas of the east, whose temperatures dissuade only the hardiest of creatures. Water is scarce and it isn't rare to see these beasts fight over the few water sources of the savanna.

Louie's notes

Flatten the ears and pepper them, dry the result, and enjoy delicious pork rinds.
