The Magneticwraith is a Waterwraith relative appearing in Pikmin: Redemption. Its appearance is generally humanoid in shape, with the suggestion of a head, body, arms, and legs, but without distinct characteristics, and with a metallic, translucent body. The Magneticwraith's name is a combination of magnetic, given its metal-attracting ability, and wraith, which means ghost or phantom. Much like the Waterwraith, the Magneticwraith first makes its presence known by falling from above alongside its stone rollers. It chases nearby Pikmin and leaders but focuses more on crushing leaders. It is completely invulnerable until exposed to the shockwaves of Purple Pikmin, which cause the creature to turn a deep shade of purple and become vulnerable to all damage.
The Magneticwraith is particularly dangerous not only because of its potential to devastate Pikmin populations: it attracts nearby metallic or metal-related objects, including parts of the environment around it. Pikmin and leaders that happen to be caught between the Magneticwraith and objects it affects will be knocked over, and if they are particularly unfortunate, they can be dragged along by the objects and smashed between them and the Magneticwraith or other obstacles. One of the most dangerous objects the creature can attract is bomb rocks, which detonate upon contact with the creature but does not harm it unless it is in its vulnerable state. Once the Magneticwraith's health is fully depleted, its rollers crumble and the creature itself waddles quickly around the area, fleeing from its attackers and attracting any metallic objects it comes near. Continue to attack the Magneticwraith as before until it is defeated, all while remaining wary of nearby objects it can affect.
