Orange Pikmin in Pikmin 15: Thousands of Years Later are average-sized, inedible Pikmin. They have a small black circle as a mouth which functions as a real mouth, unlike the mouth-like gills of a Blue Pikmin. Their Onion is found in Terriblost Maze. Other Pikmin can be transformed into Orange Pikmin using Citrus Candypop Buds. Not only are they inedible, but their power is equal to a Red Pikmin's. They are the fifth of ten Pikmin species acquired.

Orange Pikmin in Pikmin Adventures are distinguishable from other Pikmin by the spikes coating their arms and hands. These spikes allow Orange Pikmin to carry bomb rocks, although they themselves are not resistant to explosions. They are the last Pikmin species discovered, found at Precarious Crater, surrounded by cliffs on all sides. To reach them, Pikmin must be thrown across a gap for them to build a bridge on the spire to connect the two sides and be able to cross to the Orange Onion. The five Orange Pikmin there can then be whistled. Orange Pikmin are parasitic, and any bulborb or bulbear that eats one will respectively become a Bulbmin or a Bulbearmin. No Pikmin will be lost in this process. Five Orange Pikmin can also be thrown onto a dead Yellow Wollywog to receive five Wollymin. On the surface, at sunset, if an Orange Pikmin is in a host body, it will exit the host body to be able to return to its Onion. One peculiarity concerning Orange Pikmin is that bomb rocks are less likely to fall from cave ceilings where they are present. Although they have an Onion, more Orange Pikmin can be made by throwing Pikmin into a Tangerine Candypop Bud.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “Orange Pikmin are the oddest type of Pikmin, as they seem perfectly fine as a Pikmin, but yearn to have a host. It is unknown why this is, so further research is required.”
Sagittarius' notes
- “At first, I was scared of Orange Pikmin! I was afraid they would try to control me like they do grub-dogs, but they seem friendly enough, so I know they have taken a liking to me.”

These Orange Pikmin become larger and could now carry bigger bomb rocks but retain a carrying capacity of one, while Yellow Pikmin stayed the same size, lost the ability to carry bomb rocks, and developed a resistance to electricity. Some Yellow Onions evolved to accommodate Orange Pikmin.
