The Gilamander is a boss appearing in Pikmin 44. It is found within a cave in Dusty Abandon. It will attempt to eat any Pikmin nearby with its large blue-and-purple tongue. Instead of having gold on its back like the Gildemander, it carries a large bubble of water, making it so that only Blue Pikmin can damage the bright red weak spot it covers. It is also immune to the negative effects of eating White Pikmin. If a bomb rock is used on a Gilamander, it will lose the water on its back, allowing for any Pikmin type to latch on and deal damage. However, this comes at a cost because the lack of water will send the Gilamander into a frenzy, where it moves and attacks 1.5x faster. It younger version is the Gilamandwee.
