The basic strategy against the Thorny Devil consists of making it smash into a wall when it rolls to expose its soft belly and then attacking it. An advanced strategy consists of a much faster method of killing the Thorny Devil, which is to attack it while it is shooting spikes. During this time its skin is bare, opening it to attack, although Pikmin are still in danger of being skewered.
