Pikmin III
This article or section presents information pertaining to Pikmin III, a fanon game created by A Friendly Amprat.

Like Pikmin 2, Pikmin III has several gameplay trailers which show different aspects of the game. These trailers will not actually be made, but this is a list of scripts for each one.

More details on each trailer will be added as these features are revealed.

For the authentic trailer experience, listen to Pikmin 2's Game Demo theme when reading the scripts for these trailers.

Pikmin Overview Trailer

The active leader, Todd, a Hocotatian with a green hat visible through his helmet and a green beacon light, is shown walking around a desert region with a group of red, yellow, and purple Pikmin. The Pikmin III logo briefly appears on the screen, and Todd is then shown entering a large sandy area full of dried wooden bushes and small cacti. The leader comes across a group of Dwarf Red Bulborbs and the text "THROW PIKMIN" appears on the screen, as Todd then begins throwing Pikmin at the group of Dwarf Red Bulborbs, attacking and killing all of them. He walks further into the field of desert plants, where a Cloaking Burrow-nit reveals itself and begins moving toward Todd's Pikmin. The text "SWARM PIKMIN" appears on the screen, and Todd swarms his Pikmin onto the Burrow-nit's face, killing it before it can eat any Pikmin. As the Burrow-nit dies, it spits out a single piece of wood. Todd has his Pikmin swarm the body of the Burrow-nit and the wood chip, and they begin carrying them away. Todd proceeds further and comes across a large pile of wood chips. As he approaches the pile, a desert shrub next to it suddenly uproots itself from the ground and reveals itself as an enemy, which resembles the head of a Creeping Chrysanthemum with claws and legs formed from wooded plant material. The creature begins rolling toward Todd's Pikmin and tumbles through the group, sending Pikmin flying in all directions. The text "WHISTLE PIKMIN" appears as Todd begins to whistle the group of scattered Pikmin, and quickly runs away from the plant creature and flees toward the entrance of the area that he came in through.

The trailer fades to Todd at the landing site of the trailer area, on a raised patch of sand and desert rocks where Todd's green ship and the Onions are located. Interestingly, the Red and Yellow Onions are both attached via vines to a floating orange pod which resembles a cross between the Research Pod from Pikmin 2 and an Onion from Pikmin 3. The Dwarf Red Bulborb bodies and Burrow-nit body from earlier are shown being carried into the red and yellow Onions, causing them to produce around twenty Pikmin sprouts. The text "PLUCK PIKMIN" appears on screen, as Todd runs up to another leader, who has spiky red hair, an orange beacon light, and a black spacesuit, and has this leader join his group, before the two leaders begin to pluck the new Pikmin sprouts. After they do this, the trailer again fades back to the area that Todd ran away from earlier, where the Chrysanthemum-like creature is walking toward Todd's squad, which contains many Pikmin and the orange leader from earlier. The text "USE YOUR PIKMIN" appears as Todd begins to throw Purple Pikmin onto the creature and stuns it, before swarming it with the rest of his Pikmin and killing it. Todd then throws Pikmin at the creature's corpse to collect it and the two small pellets that it dropped upon death. Todd then begins swarming his Pikmin on the pile of wood chips, and the Pikmin then pick wood chips from the pile and begin carrying them back to the landing site, in a similar manner to how gold nuggets and bridge fragments are collected from piles in Pikmin 3. The logo for Pikmin III appears again, as the gameplay footage fades to black.

Colors Overview Trailer

The Pikmin III logo appears on the screen, before the text "RED PIKMIN" appears in its place, and gameplay fades in of Todd bringing a group of Red Pikmin through a sandy dungeon full of fire hazards. Todd throws Red Pikmin at two fire geysers, and a fire visual effect appears on the screen, before the Red Pikmin are shown destroying the fire hazards, and the footage then fades to a brown rocky aboveground area, where Todd is bringing a group of Red Pikmin to attack a pair of Dwarf Red Bulborbs and a Red Bulborb. As Todd kills all three enemies, the gameplay footage fades out.

The text "YELLOW PIKMIN" appears onscreen, and gameplay footage starts of Todd in a snowy winter area with a group of Yellow Pikmin. Todd has his Pikmin swarm and attack an electric gate, which they begin to hit repeatedly as an electrical shock effect appears on the screen. Interestingly, behind the electric gate, a sort of gate new to Pikmin III which is blue in coloration with light blue rods making up its main structure and white fog forming around it can be seen behind the electric gate. The gameplay fades to Todd in the same rocky brown area as earlier, where Todd tosses some Yellow Pikmin up to a high ledge, and these Pikmin land at the top of the ledge and begin to pick up wood chips from a pile of wood chips present at the top of the ledge. Todd then throws Red Pikmin and Blue Pikmin at the same ledge, which hit the side of the ledge and fall back down, not being able to make it all the way up. The gameplay footage fades out once again.

The text "GREEN PIKMIN" appears onscreen, and footage fades in of Todd and the orange leader in an overgrown grassy forested area, followed by a large number of green Pikmin. These Green Pikmin are clearly new to Pikmin III, and they seem to have elongated sharp claws extending from the fingers of their hands. Todd has the green Pikmin swarm a large green vine which is blocking the way, and the green Pikmin then begin to slash at the vine with their claws, causing grass particles to fly up from the vine and eventually causing the whole vine to be cut apart and disappear, and Todd proceeds through the cleared path. The gameplay footage then fades to Todd doing battle with a Creeping Chrysanthemum in the same forested area as earlier. Todd maneuvers his green Pikmin out of the way of the creature's bite attack, causing it to lose its balance and fall to the ground, flailing wildly. Todd begins throwing the green Pikmin at it, and as it regains its footing, the Chrysanthemum expands its body outward, but notably, only around half of the Green Pikmin are successfully dislodged by this attack, as the rest of them seem to keep their grip using their claws. The footage transitions once again, now to a dark marshy area illuminated by a dim ambient light and a few glowing mushrooms. Todd and his Pikmin are standing at the edge of a large body of nasty green bubbling liquid which seems to be acid. Todd throws the green Pikmin into the acid, as a visual effect of green bubbles appears overlaid on the screen. The Green Pikmin start attacking a small rocky clog at the center of the acid pool and they quickly destroy it, causing the pool of acid to drain away and making it no longer a threat. The gameplay footage then fades out.

The text "BLUE PIKMIN" appears onscreen, and Todd is shown in a different section of the same dark swamp area as earlier, this time with a group of Blue Pikmin. Todd leads the group of Blue Pikmin into a pool of water and they travel a short distance in the water as a splashing water effect appears overlaid on the screen. Todd then encounters a pair of Water Dumples and directs his Pikmin to attack them, which they do as the scene transitions to a sandy beach area with small seashells embedded in the ground. Todd is walking along the beach with around ten Blue Pikmin and ten Red Pikmin, when a Swooping Snitchbug suddenly swoops down from the side, grabbing two Red Pikmin and then tossing them into the water, where they begin to drown. Todd quickly throws his Blue Pikmin into the water, where they grab the Red Pikmin and throw them back onto dry land, before both Blue Pikmin do a backflip in victory. The scene then fades out.

The text "PURPLE PIKMIN" then appears onscreen, and a compilation is shown of Todd and the orange leader throwing Purple Pikmin onto various enemies, crushing and stunning them. These enemies include an Orange Bulborb in a desert area, a group of Shearwigs in a swamp area, a new turtle-like enemy in a mountainous area, and a Burrowing Snagret in a grassy area. The compilation then culminates with Todd in a dark earthy cavern walking around with a group of Purple Pikmin as well as some Red and White Pikmin, when a group of Mitites suddenly appears from the ground and causes all of the Pikmin except for the Purple Pikmin to panic. Todd throws a Purple Pikmin into the swarm of Mitites and its shockwave immediately crushes most of the Mitites, which drop nectar as Todd whistles the panicking Pikmin and the scene fades out. Finally, Todd is shown on a raised rocky platform in another cave, with a group of Red and Purple Pikmin following him. The way forward is blocked by several boulders, which are all stationary obstacles rather than being threats to the Pikmin. Todd throws some Red Pikmin at the boulders, which slide uselessly off of them, before then throwing three Purple Pikmin, which home in on and shatter three boulders as a crumbling rock effect appears on the screen. Todd then walks through the newly cleared path toward a treasure as the scene fades out.

The text "WHITE PIKMIN" appears onscreen, and the orange leader is shown throwing Red Pikmin into an Ivory Candypop Bud and the scene then cuts to this same leader throwing White Pikmin at a cluster of gas pipes, which they destroy as a purple gas effect appears on the screen. The White Pikmin then begin digging up a treasure which was buried in the center of the group of gas pipes. The scene transitions to a clearing in the dark and marshy area, where the orange leader runs up to a massive variety of Water Dumple which is as big as a full-grown Bulborb, followed by a squad of White Pikmin. The huge Water Dumple bites and eats six White Pikmin in one attack, and as it swallows, it visibly is surrounded by poison particles and loses about a third of its health due to poison damage. The scene once again transitions, now to a cave with soil and tree roots which has the same visual style as the first sublevel of the Snagret Hole in Pikmin 2. A creature resembling the Cloaking Burrow-nit, but with its shell on its front and its back uncovered, suddenly attacks the orange leader and impales three White Pikmin on its proboscis. It holds these Pikmin for a brief moment before retracting its proboscis and eating the Pikmin, which immediately causes poison particles to appear around the creature and deal enough damage to kill it instantly, though this also kills the White Pikmin. The White Pikmin souls are visible ascending out of view as the scene fades out.

The text "AND..." then appears on the black screen, before a second line of text appears below it, which reads "MORE PIKMIN?". A scene fades in of a Bulbmin adult wandering along the path in a garden-themed sublevel, with ten young Bulbmin following behind it. Notably, the Bulbmin adult seems larger than its incarnation in Pikmin 2. Todd and the orange leader run toward the Bulbmin adult, which notices them and starts coming toward them as the scene fades out. The scene then fades back in to a snowy cave sublevel with a floor coated in shiny ice, where a pink Candypop Bud is visible in the center of the screen, as a leaf Red Pikmin sliding on the ice trips and falls on its face in the background. The cutscene transitions to a dark sandy cave dripping with water around its edges and with a small pond against the back wall. A pair of black Candypop Buds are visible near the pond, and one of them suddenly closes and the camera zooms in on it as the scene fades out. Finally, the scene fades back into a cold stone cavern with sheer gray stone walls and glowing crystals scattered around the area as decorations. A rocky gray creature resembling a Worker Beeb suddenly runs out from behind a crystal and begins to roll forward across the ground. Green leaves are visible through a crystal, and they seem to belong to Pikmin following the creature, but the view is obstructed and the viewer is unable to get a better look at these seemingly Pikmin, as the scene fades to black.

Lastly, the scene fades in to a craggy canyon area, where many Pikmin types are all idle and at play around the raised stone platform. Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, and White Pikmin can be observed standing and playing around, as well as a few pink Pikmin hidden among the groups if one pays close attention. The text "SO MANY TO “PICK” FROM!" appears a bit above the middle of the screen, and the Pikmin III logo then appears just below the text, before the scene fades out and the cutscene ends.

Story Overview Trailer

The Pikmin III logo appears on the screen, and several segments of Pikmin III's trailer briefly play, including Todd's mother becoming ill due to some disease present in the treasure she purchased, Todd asking a Black Hole Loan Shark for help but being turned down, and Todd flying to the Planet of the Pikmin in his green ship, before the ship is attacked by a reptilian flying creature and crash-lands. While these scenes are shown, a voiceover explains bits of the plot in more detail, stating that Pecha is an explorer who researches other planets, that Todd is an aspiring biologist who learned about the Planet of the Pikmin through reading the notes about the planet which were written by Olimar who is Todd's personal hero and part-time mentor, and that Todd's ship is called the "S.S. Revolution" and was built by Todd's brother, Rodd.

The trailer then transitions to some gameplay, while another voiceover plays explaining that Todd was shipwrecked and lost most of the ship's fuel due to sustained damage, and now has to collect enough material from the planet's surface to fuel the S.S. Revolution and prevent it from running out of fuel and stranding Todd on the hostile planet. Meanwhile, gameplay footage plays of Todd collecting a few treasures, which are described as "organic materials" that can be converted into biofuels, as well as collecting wood chips from a pile, which serve the same function. As Todd collects wood chips, a counter appears in the top right of the screen which displays a fuel symbol and number that is increasing, seemingly going up by one with each wood chip collected, starting at 280 and going up to 296 before the scene fades out, transitioning to an ingame cutscene. In this cutscene, Todd laments that his "Medichanical Core" was lost when the ship was attacked by that monster, and that without it, there's no way that he will be able to research a cure for his mother's space sickness. He states that the ship has a built-in radar which should be able to find the location of the Medichanical Core, but Todd can't get it to work because he's "no good with machines", and he wishes his brother Rodd was here.

The scene then transitions once again as the Pikmin III logo moves from the bottom right of the screen to the bottom left, and a cutscene begins to play of Todd in a desert region standing near a smoldering wreck of what was formerly a black-painted Hocotate ship, but which was almost completely destroyed due to a crash, leaving a burning metal skeleton. Todd exclaims in shock that this ship is Black Hole Loan Shark property, and he ponders aloud questioning whether the Loan Sharks followed him to the Green Planet for some reason. Todd expresses concern at the complete destruction of the Loan Shark ship, hoping that the pilot of the ship made it out alright. Todd questions whether the pilot was "one of Cooper's co-workers", with the name "Cooper" appearing in orange text, and Todd looking sad and wistful in his text bubble, before the scene fades and transitions.

The narrator of the trailer states that "you'll need to keep your wits, and your Pikmin, about you, in order to survive on a hostile alien planet" as a montage of encounters with several powerful-looking enemies plays, including enemies like a Beady Long Legs in a sandy arena, a large turtle creature tumbling down a rocky mountain, a Spotty Bulbear in a forest, an Armored Cannon Beetle in a sandstone cave, and a swarm of gray and white flying insects with bright glowing orange abdomens that appear to be dripping acid, in a dirty cave with visible yellow hexagon patterns and cobwebs covering the walls. The compilation of dangerous creatures concludes with a cinematic scene in a hollowed-out tree chamber with a green mossy floor, where Todd and his group of Pikmin, as well as the orange leader, are shown approaching a massive winged reptilian creature with a bird's head, which seems to be some sort of Snavian, as well as the same sort of creature which attacked the S.S. Revolution in the trailer, though this creature is green, while the one in the trailer was red. Behind the snavian is a massive opening in the tree's bark that leads to the outside world, through which the sky is visible and so are many green trees, as is the forested ground which is far below, indicating that this tree area is very high in the air. As Todd approaches the creature with his team, the creature senses Todd's approach and turns to face him, spreading its wings wide and letting out a loud shrieking noise resembling something between a caw and a roar, as the camera pans out to show the scared-looking Pikmin and the two leaders entering fighting stances, before the scene fades to black. The same roaring caw noise is heard again, this time at a lower pitch, before the trailer ends.

Elemental Pikmin Overview Trailer

The Pikmin III logo appears on the screen, and text then appears that reads "MASTER YOUR ELE-MIN-S", as the scene fades in to reveal Todd and his Pikmin in a sandy cavern area with high orange-brown walls and bright light pouring in from an exit behind Todd. Todd walks toward a patch of flowers in the center of the cavern in a patch of dirt, and a Honeywisp appears above the patch of flowers as Todd draws close. This Honeywisp seems to be a rich red color instead of pink, and it is carrying a gooey liquid of the same color as itself. Todd throws a Red Pikmin into the Honeywisp, causing it to panic, drop its liquid, and revert to typical pink color as it flees into the sky. The liquid falls to the ground, where it lands and splashes into a droplet of what looks a bit like nectar, but is bright red and letting off dark gray smoke as if it is burning. Todd dismisses and whistles only his Red Pikmin, which he has drink the red nectar. As the Red Pikmin do so, they visibly change, as their red coloration darkens and their leaves become flowers, which then begin burning with bright and hot flame as the darker Red Pikmin develop small horns. A cutscene starts of one of these newly-inflamed Red Pikmin seeming to jump for joy and wave its flaming flower around, before hopping onto one foot and twirling. A text bubble appears, where Todd states that the Red Pikmin doesn't seem harmed by its flaming flower, and in fact seems to quite like its new appearance. The scene then fades and the phrase "FIRE = GOOD?" appears onscreen, with "FIRE" in light red text, before the trailer transitions back to gameplay, showing a scene of Todd in the same cave running up and throwing his flaming Red Pikmin at a gnarled mess of dry roots and brambles, which immediately catch fire and begin to burn away, revealing a treasure that was underneath. The trailer then transitions to Todd attacking a trio of Red Bulborbs in another part of the same cavern, and as Todd throws his flaming dark Red Pikmin at the Bulborbs, they awaken with a fright and take heavy damage with each hit that the Red Pikmin inflict on them, as the Red Pikmin's attacks create small bursts of flame with each impact, which seems to be dealing extra fire damage to the Bulborbs, and all three quickly perish.

The scene fades out and another line of text appears on the screen which reads "SHOCK = GOOD?", with "SHOCK" written in light yellow text, before the scene fades in to Todd feeding a group of Yellow Pikmin a bright yellow nectar which seems to be crackling with electricity. As Todd does this, the Yellow Pikmin's stems form into zigzags and their ears grow in size, as they begin to crackle with electricity and glow a bright yellow color. The scene then transitions to Todd in a dark marsh area attacking a Lesser Spotted Jellyfloat with these newly energized Yellow Pikmin, which seem to fly through the air incredibly quickly and fly even higher into the air before falling down onto the Lesser Spotted Jellyfloat and beginning to attack it. With each Yellow Pikmin hit, a crackle of electricity appears at the place of impact, and the Lesser Spotted Jellyfloat seems to be briefly paralyzed with electricity with each hit, as it crackles with lightning and eventually falls to the ground, and the Jellyfloat then quickly dies as the Yellow Pikmin attacking it are dealing heavy damage with each hit. The scene transitions again, to Todd on a metal cave sublevel throwing powered-up Yellow Pikmin at a pair of electrodes, and the Yellow Pikmin grab onto each electrode and turn to face each other as they land, before shooting electricity out from their fingertips, completing the circuit and causing a metal gate in the background to open.

The cutscene then fades out and more text appears reading "WATER = GOOD?", with "water" in light blue print, then the scene fades into a group of Blue Pikmin drinking a bubbling and frothing blue nectar, which causes the Blue Pikmin to sprout fins from their arms and legs, and causes bubbles to form around their flowers which resemble drops of dew. The scene transitions to a group of these finned Blue Pikmin swimming freely through a deep body of water, swimming upward and attacking a group of strange fishlike enemies, including a trio of narrow fish with large lips and yellow eyes and one larger brown fish with light blue fins. The scene cuts to a place deep in the marsh area where many finned Blue Pikmin are swimming in a pool of water next to a medium-sized beaver-like enemy. Todd then whistles the Blue Pikmin and throws them out of the water toward the beaver-like creature, and as the Blue Pikmin leave the water, each of them forms a watery "aqua jet" projectile around itself, which splash out in all directions when each Blue Pikmin makes contact with the enemy, dealing a substantial amount of damage and quickly taking down the creature. The scene then fades again, this time to a flooded cave area, where Todd swarms his finned dewdrop Blue Pikmin onto a gate which appears to be made of a brown chalky substance. The Blue Pikmin begin to hit the gate with their watery stems, and water splashes out onto it as they do so, which causes the gate to visibly begin to dissolve and break apart, eventually being destroyed and revealing a hole which was hidden behind it.

The cutscene fades out again and more text appears, this time reading "GAS = GOOD?", with "GAS" in pinkish print. The scene fades to a group of White Pikmin drinking a creamy white nectar which appears very powdery and dry. As the White Pikmin drink the nectar, their arms and legs become much longer, giving these Pikmin a tall and slender appearance, and their leaves become flowers which are coated in yellow pollen. Todd then directs these White Pikmin toward a strange bluish moss coating the ground, and the White Pikmin begin to whack at the moss with their flowers, which causes yellow pollen clouds to puff up and scatter around with each Pikmin's flower whack. The yellow pollen seems to have an effect on the moss, which rots away and disappears, revealing several pellets and wood chips which were buried underneath. The cutscene transitions to a group of these lanky White Pikmin swarming onto the back of a Red Bulborb, which they begin to hit at an incredibly fast rate, dealing heavy damage and causing the bulborb's health wheel to turn purple. Todd whistles back his pollen-coated White Pikmin, but the Red Bulborb continues to take damage even though no Pikmin are attacking it, and its health dwindles as it approaches Todd and his Pikmin, before it eventually runs out of health and collapses to the ground, dead, despite the absence of Pikmin currently hitting it.

The cutscene fades to black again as more text appears, which reads "ACID = GOOD?", with "ACID" in light green print. The scene fades in to a group of Green Pikmin drinking a gooey and lumpy green nectar. Their claws become even longer, the petals of their flowers become spiked and jagged, and their stems elongate and coil up into a spring shape. These powered-up Green Pikmin are then shown attacking a swarm of Male and Female Sheargrubs in a grassy location, which they attack at range by whipping out their flowers over a long distance into the Sheargrubs, dealing heavy damage to them while staying away from the jaws of the Male Sheargrubs. The scene then transitions to the Green Pikmin standing in a pool of acid while repeatedly lashing out their flowers into a nearby Spotty Bulbear, which angrily stomps around the pool of acid as it wants to eat the Green Pikmin inside but refuses to enter the acid. The scene then fades again, into the same flooded cave area where the finned Blue Pikmin were shown off earlier. This time, a group of powered-up Green Pikmin are shown whipping out their flowers through a net of roots that they seem unable to pass through themselves, using their stems to grab clay fragments which are positioned on the other side of the net of roots, before they run off carrying these clay fragments out of view of the camera.

The cutscene fades again as a final piece of text appears, reading "PURPLE = VERY GOOD." The "PURPLE" is in light purple print, and the "VERY GOOD" appears to be written in bold print. Gameplay footage fades in where a group of Purple Pikmin are drinking a bright purple nectar which has visible clumps of fat floating in it. These Purple Pikmin then darken in color and visibly become much more muscular, as their arms, legs, and stem develop toned muscles. The Purple Pikmin's flowers also become much larger and thicker, becoming heavy and blunt. A brief montage is then shown of these Purple Pikmin being thrown at various different enemies, including Orange Bulborbs, Mitites, a group of brown-shelled beetles, yellow and green Dweevils, a Pearly Clamclamp, what seems to be a small Beady Long Legs, and a Gatling Groink which seems to have a larger face shield than the enemy did in Pikmin 2. With each impact, these Purple Pikmin create large shockwaves on the ground, which damage all enemies near the shockwaves, even those who were not directly hit by the Purple Pikmin. Finally, these buffed Purple Pikmin are shown being thrown at small wooden pegs, which seem to be blocking the path but are smashed into the ground and no longer in the way after the Purple Pikmin land on them.

The text from the beginning of the demo trailer, "MASTER YOUR ELE-MIN-S", appears again, but this time, three dots appear below the phrase, and then another line of text reading "NEVER MISMATCH YOUR ELE-MIN-S." Gameplay then fades in showing a group of non-Red Pikmin drinking the fiery nectar and suddenly catching fire, a group of non-Yellow Pikmin drinking the electrical nectar and being thrown to the ground and crackling with electricity, and finally a group of non-Blue Pikmin drinking the watery nectar and then panicking as water droplets form around their leaves, before the gameplay fades out and the trailer ends.

Caves and Onion Pod Overview Trailer

Text appears reading "DARK DUNGEONS...", and short gameplay clips of exploring various caves play one after another, including a brown earthy cave, a sloped sandy cave, a dark cave lit by Glowcaps, and a wooded cave with bark walls and round rooms that appear to be made from flattened tree stumps. The trailer cuts to black and more text is revealed, this time reading "CREEPY CAVES...", then more cave gameplay is shown off, this time demonstrating a dark dirty cavern with mossy walls and Breadbugs roaming around, then a snowy cave with ice crystal walls, then a flooded cave with an underground river, and finally another sandy cave, this one with large pits of quicksand and sinkholes. Notably, in cave scenes, the HUD still displays the time of day as it does on the surface, unlike the caves in Pikmin 2.

The cutscene then shows more text, reading "PREPARE YOUR SQUAD", as Todd is shown gathering together a squad of Pikmin and the orange leader and then jumping into a hole in a mountainous region, as the S.S. Revolution's pod follows behind them. The scene shows the group landing in a concrete sublevel, and the pod of the ship floats down above them, as does another pod, this one resembling an Onion but smaller and more simple and metallic in its design. The scene transitions to Todd finding the same strange Onion-like object, now dark gray in color and half-buried in an alcove of a dirt-filled cave behind some scattered boulders, and Todd then having his Pikmin carry it back toward the ship. The scene then cuts to Todd and his Pikmin back on the surface, where the small Onion falls out of the ship's pod before the pod can reattach to the ship, and it then rolls toward the Red Onion, suddenly rapidly spinning its flower and taking to the air, before producing a vine from its side, which affixes itself to the Red Onion and connects it to the smaller Onion. The mini-Onion then takes a red color matching the Red Onion and continues to float next to the Red Onion, connected to it by the vine. Todd mentions how this is a fascinating discovery and states that none of Olimar's notes that he read had any information about an Onion like this. He exclaims that he'll have to report this information to Olimar via e-mail and see if Olimar knows anything about what this could be.

The cutscene fades out, and then more text is displayed, reading "BRING THE ONION POD". Another scene fades in, now with Todd in a sandy cave with the Revolution's pod and the "Onion Pod" there as well, no longer affixed to any Onion. Todd discusses this aloud, explaining that the Onion Pod will seemingly follow him into any cave, and it allows him to store and withdraw Pikmin in caves, despite the Onions themselves not being able to follow. Todd runs under the Onion Pod and opens an interface display, which shows that the Onion Pod can store up to 25 Pikmin at once, of any combination of types. This effectively allows Todd to bring 125 Pikmin into caves when spelunking, rather than only 100, and then switch in new Pikmin from the Onion Pod if any Pikmin on the field are lost. The trailer footage then shows Todd fighting and killing a few Dwarf Red and Orange Bulborbs in a cave, which drop several pellets despite being underground. The pellets and Bulborb bodies are shown being carried back to the Onion Pod at the start of the sublevel, as Todd remarks that the Onion Pod seems to be able to store nutrients from pellets and creatures in the same way as the Onions can, but the Pod itself does seem incapable of growing more Pikmin on its own.

More text is displayed reading "USE THE ONION POD", and the scene then switches back to the surface, where the Onion Pod affixes itself to the Red Onion once again, as well as to a Yellow Onion which is now there as well. The Onion Pod's yellow vine arms seem to glow and pulse with energy flowing out of the Onion Pod and into both Onions, which begin to spin their flowers rapidly and produce a large number of Pikmin sprouts. Todd states that thanks to the incredible discovery of the Onion Pod, he can now grow Pikmin in caves, though they won't actually be able to be sprouted until he returns to the surface. Todd is then shown running under the Onion Pod, and as he does so, the Onion Pod interface shows that the Onion Pod can be used to bring out Pikmin from any Onion and from the S.S. Revolution as well, instead of Todd having to run to the ship and each Onion individually to collect their Pikmin.

The footage fades into more text, now reading "UPGRADE THE ONION POD", and Todd is then shown having his Pikmin carry a small light-green bulb which resembles an Onion, carrying it back to the Onion Pod, which visually grows a bit larger in size, as Todd remarks that it can now store five more Pikmin for underground expeditions. Several more of these light green bulbs are shown in various locations, and then the Onion Pod interface is shown again, with Todd bringing out Pikmin using it.

The screen fades to more text, which reads "CONQUER THE CAVERNS", and several more cave gameplay scenes are shown, this time featuring many enemy encounters, including several boss battles, with one against a Burrowing Snagret, one against a very large Crawmad, and one against a green-colored Bulbear. After these combat scenes are shown, the trailer ends.
