Like Pikmin 2, Pikmin III has several gameplay trailers which show different aspects of the game. These trailers will not actually be made, but this is a list of scripts for each one.

More details on each trailer will be added as these features are revealed.

Pikmin Overview Trailer

The active leader, Todd, a Hocotatian with a green hat visible through his helmet and a green beacon light, is shown walking around a desert region with a group of red, yellow, and purple Pikmin. The Pikmin III logo briefly appears on the screen, and Todd is then shown entering a large sandy area full of dried wooden bushes and small cacti. The leader comes across a group of Dwarf Red Bulborbs and the text "THROW PIKMIN" appears on the screen, as Todd then begins throwing Pikmin at the group of Dwarf Red Bulborbs, attacking and killing all of them. He walks further into the field of desert plants, where a Cloaking Burrow-nit reveals itself and begins moving toward Todd's Pikmin. The text "SWARM PIKMIN" appears on the screen, and Todd swarms his Pikmin onto the Burrow-nit's face, killing it before it can eat any Pikmin. As the Burrow-nit dies, it spits out a single piece of wood. Todd has his Pikmin swarm the body of the Burrow-nit and the wood chip, and they begin carrying them away. Todd proceeds further and comes across a large pile of wood chips. As he approaches the pile, a desert shrub next to it suddenly uproots itself from the ground and reveals itself as an enemy, which resembles the head of a Creeping Chrysanthemum with claws and legs formed from wooded plant material. The creature begins rolling toward Todd's Pikmin and tumbles through the group, sending Pikmin flying in all directions. The text "WHISTLE PIKMIN" appears as Todd begins to whistle the group of scattered Pikmin, and quickly runs away from the plant creature and flees toward the entrance of the area that he came in through.

The trailer fades to Todd at the landing site of the trailer area, on a raised patch of sand and desert rocks where Todd's green ship and the Onions are located. Interestingly, the Red and Yellow Onions are both attached via vines to a floating orange pod which resembles a cross between the Research Pod from Pikmin 2 and an Onion from Pikmin 3. The Dwarf Red Bulborb bodies and Burrow-nit body from earlier are shown being carried into the red and yellow Onions, causing them to produce around twenty Pikmin sprouts. The text "PLUCK PIKMIN" appears on screen, as Todd runs up to another leader, who has spiky red hair, an orange beacon light, and a black spacesuit, and has this leader join his group, before the two leaders begin to pluck the new Pikmin sprouts. After they do this, the trailer again fades back to the area that Todd ran away from earlier, where the Chrysanthemum-like creature is walking toward Todd's squad, which contains many Pikmin and the orange leader from earlier. The text "USE YOUR PIKMIN" appears as Todd begins to throw Purple Pikmin onto the creature and stuns it, before swarming it with the rest of his Pikmin and killing it. Todd then throws Pikmin at the creature's corpse to collect it and the two small pellets that it dropped upon death. Todd then begins swarming his Pikmin on the pile of wood chips, and the Pikmin then pick wood chips from the pile and begin carrying them back to the landing site, in a similar manner to how gold nuggets and bridge fragments are collected from piles in Pikmin 3. The logo for Pikmin III appears again, as the gameplay footage fades to black.

Colors Overview Trailer

The Pikmin III logo appears on the screen, before the text "RED PIKMIN" appears in its place, and gameplay fades in of Todd bringing a group of Red Pikmin through a sandy dungeon full of fire hazards. Todd throws Red Pikmin at two fire geysers, and a fire visual effect appears on the screen, before the Red Pikmin are shown destroying the fire hazards, and the footage then fades to a brown rocky aboveground area, where Todd is bringing a group of Red Pikmin to attack a pair of Dwarf Red Bulborbs and a Red Bulborb. As Todd kills all three enemies, the gameplay footage fades out.

The text "YELLOW PIKMIN" appears onscreen, and gameplay footage starts of Todd in a snowy winter area with a group of Yellow Pikmin. Todd has his Pikmin swarm and attack an electric gate, which they begin to hit repeatedly as an electrical shock effect appears on the screen. Interestingly, behind the electric gate, a sort of gate new to Pikmin III which is blue in coloration with light blue rods making up its main structure and white fog forming around it can be seen behind the electric gate. The gameplay fades to Todd in the same rocky brown area as earlier, where Todd tosses some Yellow Pikmin up to a high ledge, and these Pikmin land at the top of the ledge and begin to pick up wood chips from a pile of wood chips present at the top of the ledge. Todd then throws Red Pikmin and Blue Pikmin at the same ledge, which hit the side of the ledge and fall back down, not being able to make it all the way up. The gameplay footage fades out once again.

The text "GREEN PIKMIN" appears onscreen, and footage fades in of Todd and the orange leader in an overgrown grassy forested area, followed by a large number of green Pikmin. These Green Pikmin are clearly new to Pikmin III, and they seem to have elongated sharp claws extending from the fingers of their hands. Todd has the green Pikmin swarm a large green vine which is blocking the way, and the green Pikmin then begin to slash at the vine with their claws, causing grass particles to fly up from the vine and eventually causing the whole vine to be cut apart and disappear, and Todd proceeds through the cleared path. The gameplay footage then fades to Todd doing battle with a Creeping Chrysanthemum in the same forested area as earlier. Todd maneuvers his green Pikmin out of the way of the creature's bite attack, causing it to lose its balance and fall to the ground, flailing wildly. Todd begins throwing the green Pikmin at it, and as it regains its footing, the Chrysanthemum expands its body outward, but notably, only around half of the Green Pikmin are successfully dislodged by this attack, as the rest of them seem to keep their grip using their claws. The footage transitions once again, now to a dark marshy area illuminated by a dim ambient light and a few glowing mushrooms. Todd and his Pikmin are standing at the edge of a large body of nasty green bubbling liquid which seems to be acid. Todd throws the green Pikmin into the acid, as a visual effect of green bubbles appears overlaid on the screen. The Green Pikmin start attacking a small rocky clog at the center of the acid pool and they quickly destroy it, causing the pool of acid to drain away and making it no longer a threat. The gameplay footage then fades out.

The text "BLUE PIKMIN" appears onscreen, and Todd is shown in a different section of the same dark swamp area as earlier, this time with a group of Blue Pikmin. Todd leads the group of Blue Pikmin into a pool of water and they travel a short distance in the water as a splashing water effect appears overlaid on the screen. Todd then encounters a pair of Water Dumples and directs his Pikmin to attack them, which they do as the scene transitions to a sandy beach area with small seashells embedded in the ground. Todd is walking along the beach with around ten Blue Pikmin and ten Red Pikmin, when a Swooping Snitchbug suddenly swoops down from the side, grabbing two Red Pikmin and then tossing them into the water, where they begin to drown. Todd quickly throws his Blue Pikmin into the water, where they grab the Red Pikmin and throw them back onto dry land, before both Blue Pikmin do a backflip in victory. The scene then fades out.

The text "PURPLE PIKMIN" then appears onscreen, and a compilation is shown of Todd and the orange leader throwing Purple Pikmin onto various enemies, crushing and stunning them. These enemies include an Orange Bulborb in a desert area, a group of Shearwigs in a swamp area, a new turtle-like enemy in a mountainous area, and a Burrowing Snagret in a grassy area. The compilation then culminates with Todd in a dark earthy cavern walking around with a group of Purple Pikmin as well as some Red and White Pikmin, when a group of Mitites suddenly appears from the ground and causes all of the Pikmin except for the Purple Pikmin to panic. Todd throws a Purple Pikmin into the swarm of Mitites and its shockwave immediately crushes most of the Mitites, which drop nectar as Todd whistles the panicking Pikmin and the scene fades out. Finally, Todd is shown on a raised rocky platform in another cave, with a group of Red and Purple Pikmin following him. The way forward is blocked by several boulders, which are all stationary obstacles rather than being threats to the Pikmin. Todd throws some Red Pikmin at the boulders, which slide uselessly off of them, before then throwing three Purple Pikmin, which home in on and shatter three boulders as a crumbling rock effect appears on the screen. Todd then walks through the newly cleared path toward a treasure as the scene fades out.

The text "WHITE PIKMIN" appears onscreen, and the orange leader is shown throwing Red Pikmin into an Ivory Candypop Bud and the scene then cuts to this same leader throwing White Pikmin at a cluster of gas pipes, which they destroy as a purple gas effect appears on the screen. The White Pikmin then begin digging up a treasure which was buried in the center of the group of gas pipes. The scene transitions to a clearing in the dark and marshy area, where the orange leader runs up to a massive variety of Water Dumple which is as big as a full-grown Bulborb, followed by a squad of White Pikmin. The huge Water Dumple bites and eats six White Pikmin in one attack, and as it swallows, it visibly is surrounded by poison particles and loses about a third of its health due to poison damage. The scene once again transitions, now to a cave with soil and tree roots which has the same visual style as the first sublevel of the Snagret Hole in Pikmin 2. A creature resembling the Cloaking Burrow-nit, but with its shell on its front and its back uncovered, suddenly attacks the orange leader and impales three White Pikmin on its proboscis. It holds these Pikmin for a brief moment before retracting its proboscis and eating the Pikmin, which immediately causes poison particles to appear around the creature and deal enough damage to kill it instantly, though this also kills the White Pikmin. The White Pikmin souls are visible ascending out of view as the scene fades out.

The text "AND..." then appears on the black screen, before a second line of text appears below it, which reads "MORE PIKMIN?". A scene fades in of a Bulbmin adult wandering along the path in a garden-themed sublevel, with ten young Bulbmin following behind it. Notably, the Bulbmin adult seems larger than its incarnation in Pikmin 2. Todd and the orange leader run toward the Bulbmin adult, which notices them and starts coming toward them as the scene fades out. The scene then fades back in to a snowy cave sublevel with a floor coated in shiny ice, where a pink Candypop Bud is visible in the center of the screen, as a leaf Red Pikmin sliding on the ice trips and falls on its face in the background. The cutscene transitions to a dark sandy cave dripping with water around its edges and with a small pond against the back wall. A pair of black Candypop Buds are visible near the pond, and one of them suddenly closes and the camera zooms in on it as the scene fades out. Finally, the scene fades back into a cold stone cavern with sheer gray stone walls and glowing crystals scattered around the area as decorations. A rocky gray creature resembling a Worker Beeb suddenly runs out from behind a crystal and begins to roll forward across the ground. Green leaves are visible through a crystal, and they seem to belong to Pikmin following the creature, but the view is obstructed and the viewer is unable to get a better look at these seemingly Pikmin, as the scene fades to black.

Lastly, the scene fades in to a craggy canyon area, where many Pikmin types are all idle and at play around the raised stone platform. Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, and White Pikmin can be observed standing and playing around, as well as a few pink Pikmin hidden among the groups if one pays close attention. The text "SO MANY TO “PICK” FROM!" appears a bit above the middle of the screen, and the Pikmin III logo then appears just below the text, before the scene fades out and the cutscene ends.

Story Overview Trailer

The Pikmin III logo appears on the screen, and several segments of Pikmin III's trailer briefly play, including Todd's mother becoming ill due to some disease present in the treasure she purchased, Todd asking a Black Hole Loan Shark for help but being turned down, and Todd flying to the Planet of the Pikmin in his green ship, before the ship is attacked by a reptilian flying creature and crash-lands. While these scenes are shown, a voiceover explains bits of the plot in more detail, stating that Pecha is an explorer who researches other planets, that Todd is an aspiring biologist who learned about the Planet of the Pikmin through reading the notes about the planet which were written by Olimar who is Todd's personal hero and part-time mentor, and that Todd's ship is called the "S.S. Revolution" and was built by Todd's brother, Rodd.

The trailer then transitions to some gameplay, while another voiceover plays explaining that Todd was shipwrecked and lost most of the ship's fuel due to sustained damage, and now has to collect enough material from the planet's surface to fuel the S.S. Revolution and prevent it from running out of fuel and stranding Todd on the hostile planet. Meanwhile, gameplay footage plays of Todd collecting a few treasures, which are described as "organic materials" that can be converted into biofuels, as well as collecting wood chips from a pile, which serve the same function. As Todd collects wood chips, a counter appears in the top right of the screen which displays a fuel symbol and number that is increasing, seemingly going up by one with each wood chip collected, starting at 280 and going up to 296 before the scene fades out, transitioning to an ingame cutscene. In this cutscene, Todd laments that his "Medichanical Core" was lost when the ship was attacked by that monster, and that without it, there's no way that he will be able to research a cure for his mother's space sickness. He states that the ship has a built-in radar which should be able to find the location of the Medichanical Core, but Todd can't get it to work because he's "no good with machines", and he wishes his brother Rodd was here.

The scene then transitions once again as the Pikmin III logo moves from the bottom right of the screen to the bottom left, and a cutscene begins to play of Todd in a desert region standing near a smoldering wreck of what was formerly a black-painted Hocotate ship, but which was almost completely destroyed due to a crash, leaving a burning metal skeleton. Todd exclaims in shock that this ship is Black Hole Loan Shark property, and he ponders aloud questioning whether the Loan Sharks followed him to the Green Planet for some reason. Todd expresses concern at the complete destruction of the Loan Shark ship, hoping that the pilot of the ship made it out alright. Todd questions whether the pilot was "one of Cooper's co-workers", with the name "Cooper" appearing in orange text, and Todd looking sad and wistful in his text bubble, before the scene fades and transitions.

The narrator of the trailer states that "you'll need to keep your wits, and your Pikmin, about you, in order to survive on a hostile alien planet" as a montage of encounters with several powerful-looking enemies plays, including enemies like a Beady Long Legs in a sandy arena, a large turtle creature tumbling down a rocky mountain, a Spotty Bulbear in a forest, an Armored Cannon Beetle in a sandstone cave, and a swarm of gray and white flying insects with bright glowing orange abdomens that appear to be dripping acid, in a dirty cave with visible yellow hexagon patterns and cobwebs covering the walls. The compilation of dangerous creatures concludes with a cinematic scene in a hollowed-out tree chamber with a green mossy floor, where Todd and his group of Pikmin, as well as the orange leader, are shown approaching a massive winged reptilian creature with a bird's head, which seems to be some sort of Snavian, as well as the same sort of creature which attacked the S.S. Revolution in the trailer, though this creature is green, while the one in the trailer was red. The creature senses Todd's approach and turns to face him, spreading its wings wide and letting out a loud shrieking noise resembling something between a caw and a roar, as the camera pans out to show the scared-looking Pikmin and the two leaders entering fighting stances, before the scene fades to black. The same roaring caw noise is heard again, this time at a lower pitch, before the trailer ends.
