Snowy Descent is a cave encountered in the Jungle of Repose in Pikmin 2: New Year. This cave is one of the earlier caves, with particularly weaker enemies. It is still dangerous, as sublevels are filled to the brim with fire geysers that never go inactive until disabled. The sublevels are coated in a thick layer of snow, filled with Hairy Bulborbs and Snow Bulborbs. There are  × 685 worth of treasures, with the Treasure Gauge being the main treasure.

How to reach

To get to the cave, tear down the bramble wall before it, and after that, make sure to kill the Toady Bloyster and Mamuta guarding the entrance.

The sublevel is populated by many sheargrubs. Kill them all and collect the treasure.

This is a rest sublevel with not much in it. However, the Indigo Blowhog may be trouble. Kill it if it's really necessary.

There are no threatening enemies on this sublevel. However, there are deadly fire geysers. Take them out before getting the treasures. Use Purple Pikmin or Red Pikmin to take out the Napalm Dweevils so they aren't a nuisance.

Beware of the Insomniac Snitchbug, as it can leave Pikmin defenseless to the other enemies in the sublevel if they capture a leader. Make sure to kill the armada of bulborbs with Purple Pikmin in order to obtain the two treasures in the sublevel.

Sublevel 5

Sublevel 5 of Snowy Descent.

The Empress Bulblax contains the final treasure. Either swarm the side of its body or attack it head-on, stepping away or ducking into alcoves to avoid its rolling attack, until it is defeated, and collect the treasure. Ultra-spicy sprays are most effective.
