Attacks Eats Pikmin, tosses objects, summons Lesser Ookoos

The Greater Ookoo is a species of monkape appearing in Pikmin: Spark as the fourth main boss fight. They rule a group of their lesser kin in Fertile Savanna, where three are fought simultaneously in the middle of a strange, large device, with their lesser counterparts hollering like crazed sports arena attendees. The Greater Ookoos coordinate their attacks to eliminate the Pikmin and leaders intruding on their territory. Using their tails, the Greater Ookoos can lob rocks and fruit, which, respectively, crush what they land on and release a pool of poison sludge upon hitting a surface but can also toss one another around at their targets. Each Greater Ookoo can do tricks off of what appears to be a giant chain-activated propeller to travel from one side of the arena to the other. These chains are too high for most Pikmin to reach and too heavy for Winged Pikmin to tug, which means only Yellow Pikmin can pull them. Doing so activates the propeller, stunning any of the Greater Ookoos that grab it, allowing one to be defeated. The two Greater Ookoos that remain summon Lesser Ookoos to assist them. When one Greater Ookoo remains, any Lesser Ookoos present flee, and it digs up a giant crystal, which it uses both to defend itself and to crush its foes. By destroying its crystal shield-weapon with Rock Pikmin, the last Greater Ookoo, now powerless, attempts to flee but is ultimately defeated.

In Ultra-Spicy Mode, six Greater Ookoos are fought at once, the arena is larger to accommodate them, and the battle progresses each time two of them are defeated.

After every Greater Ookoo is defeated, they yield the Medicine Press Express, a mechanical meat grinder that is worth HP Sparklium icon.png × 700, allows the collected liquified Sparklium to be converted into consumable pills, and upgrades the ship to be able to travel to the Rust Labyrinth.

Abel's medical journal

Medical assistance is hard to come by but it's possible to train these primates to help us with important medical procedures.

Lyn's sale review

If you don't mind the energy this creature has, it can be an intelligent and long-lived companion who is loyal to the end.
