Refuse is the main collectible in Pikmin: Spark. Refuse is similar to fruits in that it is needed to continue gameplay, as 
× 500 is consumed each day, but is also similar to treasures as each contains a certain amount of Sparklium. Most refuse periodically reappears, meaning there is an endless supply of it to collect, although some refuse is unique as there is a limited amount of a particular instance to collect. Much refuse is located in the open, but some refuse can be or is dropped by certain enemies, and even less refuse is dropped by bosses, some of which can only be fought a limited amount of times. Refuse there is a limited amount of tends to contain much more Sparklium than more common refuse does and tends to be important to story progression.
By collecting at least one of each type of refuse, it is possible to access and battle the true final boss and witness the game's true ending.
