The Booty Long Legs is a species of arachnorb appearing in Pikmin Evolution. It gets its name from how its main body resembles a typical treasure chest, or in other words, a pirate's booty. Its wooden and metallic legs and the golden chains and locks securely keeping its main body shut give it a more industrial appearance compared to others of its kind. The Arachnorb makes its home in coastal areas, where it buries itself partially in the ground, appearing innocuously as a chest of buried treasure. When something like Pikmin try to unearth more of it, the Arachnorb will pop out and scatter any would-be excavator away. When it does, it simply stomps around to crush anything under its feet, but because of its environment, water-filled depressions form with every step it takes.
Since this Arachnorb is always fought on the coast, the puddles it leaves make navigation tricky without Kelp Pikmin, which can survive water. What truly makes the boss unique is that the central body can not be damaged while all four locks keeping it shut are broken. Pikmin can climb up its legs to reach the locks and begin striking them to damage them, but will most certainly be forced off with every step it takes with that particular leg. When a lock is destroyed, the main body will open slightly, and giant nuggets of false gold will begin to spill out from whichever side the lock once was. These nuggets are somewhat similar to the Gildemander's and crush anything caught under them, as well as linger on the battlefield for quite some time, serving as obstacles until they are destroyed or naturally sink into the sand. The more locks are broken, the more gold spills out and at a faster rate. As such, the far-reaching Kelp Pikmin should be used to break the locks, and the crushing-resistant Alloy Pikmin should be used to clear away the nuggets. When all four of its locks are destroyed, the Booty Long Legs' body will collapse into the soft sand of its coastal habitat and open up, allowing access to the myriad of refuse contained within. Overall, the Booty Long Legs is a very tricky boss to face due to so many things happening at once, but a rewarding one due to the large bounty it gives out in return.
