It's a very different locale compared to the previous five- it's a dark, apocalyptic field area crawling with bugs designed for intense battle and rigged with all kinds of mechanical traps. The Web of Terror is hidden rather close to where you land, the G-Base is quite a ways out (you'll know when you're heading in the right direction, you'll encounter more and more enemy robots and stuff) and the Black Hole is very far away, and you won't even be able to reach it until you've cleared the G-Base.

The Penumbra Plains serve as the sixth and semifinal area in Pikmin: Sinister Incinerator. It's a very different locale compared to the previous five- it's a dark, apocalyptic field area crawling with bugs designed for intense battle and rigged with all kinds of mechanical traps. From where you land you can reach a few plants for sprays as well as the dungeon entrance to the Web of Terror. When you're ready to explore the area, take down the black gate which bars the way out. It's actually a protective barrier from the enemies you'll encounter up ahead. Be prepared. There's an intense labyrinth of paths ahead, some of which may have acid or water blocking important intersections. There will be walls to take down, bridges to build and many enemies to do battle with. The one noticeable landmark is a particularly large boulder which rests, unfortunately, in the middle of the central path, blocking something up ahead. Eventually the trail will lead to a heavily-defended clearing, in the middle of which rests the G-Base. After the dungeon is completed, search for the batteries scattered about the labyrinth and bring all eight back to the huge robot that sits inactive at the corner of the clearing where the G-Base is. It will come back to life temporarily and go on a rampage but won't hurt any Pikmin. It'll blast away all enemies in its path and finally use the last of its strength to destroy the huge boulder. From here on out, it's a very long but straightforwards march dead ahead until you finally reach the Black Hole.
