The Azure Spectralid is an creature appearing in Pikmin 44. Like all other members of the flutterbie family, the Azure Spectralid is completely harmless to leaders and their Pikmin. They fly around and rest on various flowers and candypop buds until approached, in which case they will fly away to a nearby space to land and rest their wings. Upon death, the Azure Spectralid will drop anywhere from 10-20 raw materials.
Notes
Collin's notes
- “The raw materials gathered from this creature can be really useful for a lot of construction. If only Russ was here with us, we could turn it into so much. Although maybe it's better he isn't here. I don't want another incident to happen with his inventions...”
Brittany's notes
- “What a beautiful blue color. If I didn't love pink so much I'd wear blue all of the time. Imagine a dress made to look like the wings of one of these. I wish Koppai had better fashion.”
Louie's notes
- “Extract raw materials and melt into a syrupy caramel sauce. Fry the remainder of the body before dipping into the aforementioned sauce. Makes for a delicious dessert.”
Alph's notes
- “Structural flaw: weak hide / Weight: 1. I used to think the red variation was my favorite of the bunch, but after we discovered this variant my opinion has changed. Blue can't be beaten.”
Shepherd's notes
- “These things are some of the smaller creatures we've discovered on this planet, however, that doesn't make them any less scary in my eyes. The blue color in particular reminds me of the massive ocean on this planet. I hope we don't ever have to explore down there. I can just imagine that the creatures down there grow even larger.”
Charlie's notes
- “If red is the recognized symbol of danger, does that make blue the symbol of safety? It would make sense considering how peaceful these things are. Though I don't think I've ever actually seen one eat. So how do they survive?”
Olimar's notes
- “Azure Spectralids / Fenestari caeruprismatus / Flutterbie family. I would almost be tempted to name this species an unmarked variation of Spectralid, however, in the right light white spots are visible upon each wing. They are such a hypnotizing shape too. I wonder what evolutionary advantages these spots may hold. If only this species wasn't so rare, maybe then I'd know.”

“ | Could that flitterbie contain a spray? | ” | – The ship, upon discovering the Blue Spectralid |
---|
The Blue Spectralid is an enemy that appears in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature resembles a small butterfly with a fluffy white body, two tiny legs, and two small antennae. Its main feature is its two large, light blue wings featuring a small, white circle pattern.
The Blue Spectralid can be found flying around flowers or other plants. It will occasionally stop to rest on a flower petal or edge of elevated land. The creature is extremely agile and will fly away if so much as approached. However, it's extremely weak, and one hit from a Pikmin is more than enough to kill it. When killed, the Blue Spectralid has a chance to drop ultra-refreshing spray.
In Overlord mode, the chance for a Blue Spectralid to drop its respective spray is decreased significantly, as with all spectralids.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “This species of flutterbie primarily consumes nectar that is jam-packed with nutrients and energy. Perhaps that's why it's so fast, and why whenever another species consumes such nectar, they too receive a boost of energy and speed. The Blue Spectralid is particularly rare in the ecosystem it resides in.”
Louie's notes
- “Fry the wings in a deep fryer like potato chips. Dip in nacho cheese for a treat jam-packed with energy.”
President’s notes
- “What a strange butterfly! The nectar it drops makes me work and move at twice the speed. Perhaps this is what my slacking employees need...”
Overlord's thoughts
- “The Blue Spectralid is quite a rare sight. But when they occasionally appear, I take great delight in watching them fly around. Butterflies are beautiful.”

The Blue Spectralid only appears in the outdoor areas of the Karst of Gales and is much like the other flutterbies found in Pikmin X: Deep Freeze; it simply flies away when approached and has no means of attacking Pikmin. However, the Blue Spectralid is quicker to flee than other spectralids and must be approached carefully in order to catch it before it flies away. When killed, a Blue Spectralid will produce a drop of ultra-sour spray.
