The King Luvvbugg is an electricity-based scarab beetle appearing in Pikoblitz. It is encountered on sublevel seven of Anode Complex and sublevel five of Conquest Cavern. Although it may initially appear caring and compassionate, it is a formidable, vicious foe in battle, showing no mercy to Olimar, Louie, or Pikmin. It resembles an enormous Anode Beetle the size of an Armored Cannon Beetle, although its body isn't rounded and it has an emaciated appearance. Its head resembles that of a real-world stag beetle, and on its carapace is a yellow heart design. In the sublevels it is fought, the King Luvvbugg has four pairs of electrical wires that it weaponizes by using its body as a conduit, electrifying itself and directing a bolt of electricity at Pikmin. The King Luvvbugg is also able to fly, which it usually does after attacking. Only thrown Yellow Pikmin can reach the creature while it is airborne. Specifically, its vulnerable underbelly should be targeted. Although the King Luvvbugg has a surprisingly low amount of health for a boss, it makes up for this with lethal electricity. Needless to say, attacking its exoskeleton has no effect on the creature.

Notes

Olimar's notes

Quite a respectful and somewhat greedy creature. Each specimen is a male and appears to be lonely in a habitat without something close to them. Maybe they have mates, somewhere in an undiscovered part of the Planet of the Pikmin. They do not let go of treasures when they are in possession of them, maybe it is greed, or maybe some other reason...

Louie's notes

The meat is quite tough, and not even my finest gravy can soften it. So, grind the exoskeleton into the broth, throw in some chicken and some fresh vegetables, and you have a spectacular soup!
